What’s the biggest news in the sports world or indeed in any world in the US? You know it. The Dallas Mavs have dropped an absolute nuke in the sports world by trading generational star Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers. Great news for the Lakers nation and LeBron James fans. But how did this update of the Mavs link to the NFL world? It’s quite a sad link, as it’s through the grief being felt by Chiefs Superstar Patrick Mahomes.

He has reacted to the news on Monday through the NFL’s X-handle. Mahomes clarified his views on Luka Dončić’s shocking trade. In a recent video shared by the NFL, Mahomes admitted, “As a Dallas fan it hurts me.” The three-time Super Bowl champion further added, “But I’m happy for him that he’s gonna be able to go out there and be in LA and tryna achieve his dream of winning a championship. He did so much, not only for basketball but for the city and Dallas (Mavs). So, I’d appreciate all those years. But excited for the Mavs moving forward and the guys they brought in.” The trade news was like an earthquake; the New York Times’ The Athletic has called it a ‘stunning trade of the century’.

And you know, the reason the 2018 first-round pick was traded after seven years was only one player- the 10-time All-star Anthony Davis. Surprisingly, if Luka was not traded, he was eligible to sign a staggering $345 million contract extension of five years, but now it’s gone. Talking about the trade for Anthony Davis, the Dallas Mavericks GM Harrison said, “He fits right along with our timeframe to win now and win in the future.” And further added, “Trades don’t happen at the smallest level without stuff getting out and Rob and I were able to have really intense conversations over the course of three or four weeks.” The fans couldn’t even register this even hours after the trade news.

The 25-year-old NBA star was able to help the team get to the finals after years of drought but lost against the Celtics. He has also suffered a calf injury but still never put his ‘guards’ down. But after the trade-related news shook the sports world, NFL star Patrick Mahomes felt devastated, just like all the fans. Wanna know how Mahomes reacted? Let’s jump in!
