The world of music and sports never collided like this before. Since Taylor Swift started appearing for the Kansas City Chiefs games, the team and its players have been under the spotlight. After months of speculation and reports by the media finally, an inside source spoke up about the whole ordeal. The team’s star QB Patrick Mahomes shares his experience and opinion on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

Dubbed by their fans as ‘Swelce’, they were the talk all year round. So Time Magazine was justified in naming the pop icon Swift as their Person of the Year for 2023. Though on numerous occasions we have witnessed the couple being supportive of each other, what do the people closest to this budding romance think about it? What is Mahomes’ take on his best buddy’s ‘love story’?

Patrick Mahomes and the Swelce affair

It was the Week 3 matchup back in September when Taylor Swift stepped inside the Arrowhead Stadium to watch the Chiefs and Kelce perform and things haven’t been the same since. “There was a couple of jokes here and there at the beginning”, said Mahomes in a recent interview. But the initial unease ended soon after as she started showing up for more and more games.

“Now it’s just she’s just part of Chiefs Kingdom now and she’s part of the team”, confessed Mahomes. For teammate Kelce he said, “He’s lucky enough to be with a great girl, a great woman”. Not only that, but things got even better for Patrick Mahomes as his wife Brittany came along too.

Mahomes said in the interview, “It’s cool that she’s embraced Brittany and they’ve built a friendship as well”. This collision of two worlds has been fruitful for the Chiefs and Swifties alike. And by the looks, we will certainly be seeing more of Swift at the football games and the Chiefs are making sure of it.

Mahomes and Co. have playoff battles

Though the defending champions have yet not secured a playoff berth. It is an all-but-done deal in their favor, currently in the 2nd position to make it to the playoffs with a probability of 99%. A win this week at home will solidify that playoff berth.

The fierce rivalry between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Chiefs resumes this weekend. The Chiefs would want to get done with the playoff drama right now. If not, they have 2 more games left in the regular season to do that.
