Dark clouds are looming over Matthew Stafford‘s comeback to the offensive side of his team. The Los Angeles Rams lost their latest game against the Dallas Cowboys 43-20 and slumped down to five defeats now off their eight games played. Amidst this, the bad news seems to be piling up for the Rams with their QB Stafford suffering with a thumb injury.

With the star QB unavailable for proper game time, news soars that the Los Angeles team has its eyes set on a backup QB for their upcoming games. With the recovery of Stafford under scrutiny and new plans on the cards for the side, options seem interesting for the Rams to solidify their offense.

The Rams in a conundrum with Stafford’s probable replacement

Matthew Stafford who has amassed over 2k passing yards with 8 TDs, started the game well and also scored a TD. However, he soon injured his thumb when the first half was about to culminate, giving a scare to the Rams. Stafford was taken off the field and did not return to the things of play.

Stafford was replaced by Brett Rypien in the third quarter of the game but the Rams are looking for another replacement for the side in the longer run. Although there is no information on when Stafford will be back, the Rams are not ruling out injured reserves. Dov Kleiman on X shared a post and addressed what the Rams are planning to do.

According to the post, the Rams are planning a trade with the Buccaneers to get QB John Wolford off their practice squad for the backup. While the news is not confirmed, and even Kleiman sourced it to others, the replacement seems right on point, with the side needing a more permanent answer to their offensive questions in the absence of their Quarterback.

The Rams have to buckle up fast

With the injury, the Rams might even be able to solve their impending issues on the field and finally get back to winning ways. However, the new addition does raise queries about how will matters go ahead once Stafford makes his return.

The Rams will face the Packers this week. the Packers have managed to register just 2 wins out of the seven games played. moreover, they have lost their last four games on the trot and are facing down at the bottom of the barrel. but you should not rule out any possibility of a comeback.
