However, after a series of ugly defeats, the fanbase of the Chargers is interpreting Staley’s midseason career end with the franchise.

Under Staley’s tenure, the Chargers missed by critical margins. Against the Packers, the Chargers fell short by three points, and this season they have lost five games by three or fewer points. The team’s unsightly defense against the Packers allowed the Packers’ quarterback, Jordan Love, to lodge his career-high of 322 yards in a single game. Highlighting the current state of the team, MLFootball’s Twitter account tweeted the news and focused on Staley’s tenure.

The defeat by a scoreline of 23-20 against the Packers raised concerns about Staley’s management. At the post-match conference, Staley highlighted the need for improvement in the passing game and how the entire team is losing a chance to win every week’s game. Moreover, addressing the criticism on defense, Staley said, “You guys act like we’ve never played good defense; that’s not the truth. That’s not the truth. You act like we haven’t made any improvements; today, in the run game, we played outstanding. We’re rushing the quarterback well.

Furthermore, Staley added, “We didn’t play well enough in the red zone on offense, we dropped too many passes, we gave up a few killer sacks. We did this as a team. Stop making it about one unit, because that’s not what happened out there today.

However, it’s unlikely that Staley will be fired midway through the season, but HC and the team still have half the season to revive themselves from the criticism. Their next challenge is against the Baltimore Ravens. So, what do you think about Staley’s reviving himself against the Ravens?
