The NFL is sometimes known for not paying players what they are truly worth. And the latest case in point is L’Jarius Sneed. Before him, Brock Purdy was hailed as the face of this trend. He could not help his team win the MVP title, or help them win the Super Bowl. However, just in his second year, he managed to take them to the Super Bowl.

Sneed, however, played a major role in his team’s hosting of the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The squad’s offense was mostly a dud the entire regular season. They could make it to the playoffs because of the defense. And now it seems one player wants proper compensation for that.

As his contract expired after the Super Bowl, Sneed, now 27, is eyeing free agency, seeking recognition for his contributions to the team. During an appearance on Up & Adams with Kay Adams, Sneed delivered a straightforward yet impactful message to Chiefs general manager Brett Veach. “Pay me. Pay. Me,” Sneed said. “That’s what I’ve got to say: Pay me.”

L’Jarius Sneed inked a four-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, totaling $3,929,320. This contract features a signing bonus of $634,320, with $634,320 guaranteed. His average annual salary amounts to $982,330. That may be a big sum of money, but he’s grossly underpaid when it comes to other CBs who aren’t even of his caliber.

Starting in 2021, Sneed has been a consistent presence, starting in 48 games and amassing impressive stats: 192 tackles, seven interceptions, and 4.5 sacks.
