He revealed a blend of professional understanding and personal disappointment. “It’s a little weird,” Purdy described, feeling the oddity of being on the practice field but not gearing up for the game day.

His commitment to his team’s strategy was clear. He went ahead and acknowledged, “We’re doing what’s best for the team and the organization.” Yet, he couldn’t hide his innate competitive drive. He added, “Just the competitor in me. Obviously I want to play and you know compete all the time, so but that that’s the case and the situation that we’re in.” He also reflected on the experience of seeing his teammates prepare for the Rams.

He noted, “I saw my teammates…dressed up, ready to go, and preparing for the Rams, and then I’m practicing, but obviously not getting to go for the game.” Despite the inner conflict, Purdy maintained a focus on the bigger picture. He advised, “I want our team to treat this week as like Brock going down on the first play of the game.” He also reflected on the value of the bye week. He noted, “You work hard to get an off week…But what you don’t want is two off weeks.”
