22-year-old young sensation Sam LaPorta is standing right beside legendary Rob Gronkowski. He has proven his worth on the gridiron. The Lions’ offense made quick work of the resurging Denver Broncos and registered their tenth victory of this season. In a complete blowout 42-17, Rookie TE Sam LaPorta joined his QB Jared Goff and broke some long-standing records!

The Lions are making it a habit to completely outsmart a deserving opposition. They started the season by defeating the Super Bowl champs Kansas City Chiefs and have never looked back. The team is on the cusp of securing a playoff spot which is only made possible by the explosive offense that Sam LaPorta provided.

Sam LaPorta was drafted by the Lions in the second round and has made his team cherish that decision. No fuss, the rookie TE has matched an exceptional record that has stood the test of time. Underdog NFL shared his accomplishments on X.

As LaPorta recorded his third TD he matched Gronkowski’s long time standing record. The post enlightened the fans about the same, “Sam LaPorta is the first rookie TE with 50+ receiving yards and 3 TDs in a single game since Rob Gronkowski in 2010”. The legendary TE Gronkowski achieved this record when he started his career with the Patriots. Four-time Super Bowl champion made his third touchdown in a single game against the Bengals.

It took thirteen years and a real special effort to match this feat as LaPorta recorded a TD in every quarter except the first. He turned the scoreboard first in the second quarter after a dull first one. The rookie managed to score one right in the middle of the third and an astounding catch in the third quarter that ended the game. All this was possible because of Jarred Goff’s throws as he made no mistake in his judgements.

The Lions’ offense is turning out to be a headache for the opposition.

TE Sam LaPorta has already scored nine TDs this season and Jared Goff has provided 26 by the end of the game. Goff scored five TDs in the game itself. This offensive team is only made possible by the long-term efforts of OC Ben Johnson. Even Eminem acknowledged the same after the commendable victory.

The Lions will face the Vikings twice and the Cowboys once before the playoffs. If they win one, no one can stop them from making it to the playoffs. The Vikings have to be a little more worried at the U.S. Bank Stadium.
