Is Tom Brady slowly yet steadily closing in on his No.1 target in Lions OC Ben Johnson? Well, considering how things are moving in Las Vegas. It would be only a matter of time before Brady gets his first task done as the Raiders’ minority owner. His team had already interviewed Johnson over the past weekend. But we were yet to get any details on how it went for either party. However, that wait is now over, as Johnson has revealed his talks with Tom Brady.

And let’s just say the momentum is slowly shifting toward Johnson’s imminent arrival in Sin City. When asked how his interview with the Raiders went, the Lions OC gave a straightforward answer: “It went great, and that’s the end of it.” He then went on to change the subject by reiterating the importance of Saturday’s clash against the Commanders. Now, besides Johnson’s positive take on his interview with Brady’s Raiders.

Sin City’s reporter Vincent Bonsignore, who is an NFL insider, said, “A lot of momentum building for Ben Johnson and @Raiders.” So, are the Raiders really going to land Johnson? Like as per the recent reports, they are moving in the right direction. However, despite all the developments popping up in Johnson’s move to Vegas. Brady has to maintain a thin line in his involvement to avoid the NFL’s punishment. He carries a conflict of interest and is barred from attending meetings or practices because of his ownership status.

But it’s an open secret that Brady is the one who vouched for Johnson’s candidacy in Sin City. Now, Johnson didn’t know about all those things on restrictions surrounding interaction with Brady. He said, “I know nothing of that nature. I met him the Packers game on the field. I saw him for a second in pregame. That’s the first time I’ve ever met him. And that’s it.”

So, it would surely be an interesting day for Brady in his Fox booth on Saturday. He has to deliver an unbiased commentary, no matter his involvement in bringing Johnson to his side next season. Considering where things are headed for Johnson in the NFL, ESPN’s Adam Schefter has a warning for him.

Is Ben Johnson the missing piece for the Raiders, or should he stay with the Lions?

Have an interesting take?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter has urged Ben Johnson to think twice before accepting the Raiders job. Like there’s a reason why they still haven’t found their man. And with Johnson, it always looked like a long shot for what he continues to achieve in Detroit. However, because of Tom Brady’s personal involvement, it seems the Raiders could soon land their No.1 target.

So, before it does happen, Adam Schefter issued a notice for Johnson’s own good, “If he takes the Raiders job. He’s now going to a division where the head coaches are Andy Reid, Sean Payton, and Jim Harbaugh.” Besides pointing out the coaches, Schefter also mentioned the sheer firepower they possess in their QB room, “And the quarterbacks are now Patrick Mahomes, Bo Nix and Justin Herbert.”

And while mentioning all of those things, he pointed out the problems the Raiders themselves have in their QB corps: “And you’re going to a team that doesn’t even have a quarterback, doesn’t have a draft pick to go land a quarterback and has to find a way somehow to get a quarterback. So, good luck with that.” Like the situation is truly dire for Brady’s franchise. They aren’t in the range of even drafting Colorado’s QB Shedeur Sanders or Miami’s Cam Ward. The only remaining option for them will be to trade picks with the Titans or the Browns.

However, considering how their season went by, it doesn’t look like they would be interested in doing so. But Brady would surely have a plan up in his sleeve, right? Otherwise, why would Johnson even be interested in the dumpster Vegas has turned itself into?
