Walking into AT&T Stadium, the Cowboys thought they could build up on their last week’s thumping win against the Browns. But it wasn’t meant to be, as the Cowboys found themselves on the losing side in Dallas courtesy of a high-flying Saints. Dallas’s defense that sparked against Cleveland was nowhere to be seen, as the Saints ran away with a 44-19 victory.

Although it was a loss that no one seemed to have predicted, Lions WR Amon Ra St. Brown pointed out an inconsistency in Dallas. Speaking with his brother, Equanimeous St. Brown, on the St. Brown Podcast, the 24-year-old stated, “It must have been a bad game for the Cowboys. I feel like the Cowboys have those games have like, a great game. Then they just have a bad game. So you probably caught them on one of their bad games. But you guys, like you guys, still do not move me.”

For now, the Lions WR might not hold his brother’s team to a bigger standard. But looking at their last week’s performance in Dallas, he might be turning a blind eye toward New Orleans. It was Alvin Kamara who put up a show against Dallas after finishing with 115 rushing yards, 65 receiving yards, and 4 TDs. On the night when the Saints scored five TDs in the first half, Kamara contributed to three of those. Even Rashid Shaheed’s 70-yard TD tore apart the Cowboys’ defense, which kept looking for answers.

Well, replying to his brother’s take on the Cowboys losing against the Saints, Equanimeous conveyed, “Trying to discredit the Cowboys would be crazy with their roster. And what they got going on and as many games as they have won as successful. As they have been during the regular season for the past 4 or 5 years. It’s crazy.” Although the Cowboys’ loss could be unexpected for some, Jerry Jones expressed his disappointment that night.

“Extraordinarily disappointing. We will correct this. We will improve. This is early. This is very, very early. And we certainly didn’t see it coming. Obviously, we’ve got a lot of room for improvement here,” Cowboys GM conveyed. This could be an early wake-up call for the Cowboys, who still have time to improve on their shortcomings. However, can they do it as the Cowboys expressed their thoughts on the defeat?

Dak Prescott, who signed a four-deal worth $240 million, was expected to help the Cowboys maintain their strong start to the season. However, he has fumbled in doing so, as the Cowboys QB was sacked three times while throwing two interceptions on the night. One of those interceptions was caught by Paulson Adebo, who put up a long run into the Cowboys half while eventually getting by Prescott.

But the damage was already done as that effort led to the Saints scoring their fifth touchdown of the game. Expressing his thoughts on the loss against the Saints, the Pro Bowler stated, “Can’t wipe it until we’ve learned from it. We build off it. That was a good team. They started fast, two weeks in a row. You have to credit to them. Understand that this is the NFL, once again. For these young guys, it’s a message to not necessarily listen to the outside noise or how good people are going to make you after one win.”

Even head coach Mike McCarthy shared his learning experience from the loss, “What did I learn about them? I think it’s just, this kind of tells you where you are. We’ve played two games, and you know, the consistency of winning in week one and building off that did not occur today. So, we took a step backward. So, we’ve got to get back to work.” Well, going back to the drawing table is the right thing to do for the Dallas Cowboys at the moment. As they await the arrival of the Ravens, who are 0-2 at the start of the regular season.
