Is Jourdan Lewis' trash talk crossing the line, or is it just part of the game?

The Dallas Cowboys were hammered at home by the Detroit Lions as they came away with a thumping victory at 47-9. This was their fourth consecutive loss at home, which was once a fortress at the beginning of this season. With Cowboys owner Jerry Jones watching from the stands on his birthday, his team failed to make any impact on Sunday.

Well, it was a day that anyone in Dallas would want to forget. But Cowboys CB Jourdan Lewis, who had a history of trash talk, might have crossed a line. In an Instagram story shared by the Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lewis can be seen sending a hateful message that read, “You a b—-.” But the Cowboys CB didn’t just randomly send St. Brown the message that he shared the screenshot of.

It was a previous story posted by the Lions WR where he might have called out Lewis as the caption of his video read, “What he say.” Considering the reply Jourdan came up with, it might not be surprising to some, as the Cowboys’ CB is infamous for trashing talk opposition receivers.

Going back to December last season, when the Lions faced the Cowboys, Lewis had a small confrontation with St.Brown. Opening up on that altercation, Amon-Ra St. Brown shared on “The Pivot Podcast” that “he was talking crazy. Some stuff I’ve never heard.” However, Brown did say those trash talks work as a motivation for him, “Yeah, typically don’t get too involved. I might say something back a little, but for the most part, it fires me up. Gets me going. So, I love it.”

Looking back at this week’s clash against the Cowboys, the Lions WR did have a great time on the field. Although his team didn’t take the aerial route much in the final two quarters (9), Brown managed to finish his day with four catches on targets for 37 yards. His four-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter meant this was the third consecutive game he reached the end zone this season.

Have an interesting take?

Checking out Brown’s Instagram story, you find him celebrating getting one over his rival in Dallas. However, the Cowboys GM Jerry Jones had nothing to celebrate as his team failed to offer any happiness on his 82nd birthday.

Lions hand Jerry Jones a nightmare on his birthday in Dallas

On the day when Jones was supposed to open champagnes and celebrate with his players in Dallas. He was left to reflect upon what went wrong this Sunday, as he turned 82nd, “I regret that for our fans. I regret it for everybody that is a part of the Dallas Cowboys or have been a part of the Cowboys, and it puts a lot of resolve on us.” Cowboys losing their fourth game in a row at home isn’t the only thing that could threaten their season. As they have conceded a whopping 167 points over the four games they lost.

Even Jones expressed his concerns about losing at home, “We all know you should feel better at home. I think that is an advantage. You don’t travel. Sleep in your own bed. It should be an advantage at home.” Well, to everyone’s surprise, the Cowboys are 3-3 after six games this season. And all of their wins have come away from home. So, their next game against the 49ers in Bay Area might bring them back on track. Otherwise, their season could derail if they don’t find some consistency within the next few weeks in the NFL.
