In January last year, the 49ers crushed the Lions for the NFC Championship. So, they were fired up to take their revenge. And they did. Riding high on confidence, the Lions HC Dan Campbell was ruthless in his approach while training. Finally, they won the week 18 game 40-34. After the game, the winners started trolling the losers. Their wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown, crossed the line.

He posted photos on his Instagram account from the game, even with the final scores. But what captured everyone’s attention was the photo of the 49ers defense captain, Fred Warner. He wrote “limping” on his photo, trolling him. To understand his antics, his caption provides the biggest clue, “whatever Dan said.

During the post-game conference, the 49ers’ captain had a warning for the Lions. He quoted Campbell’s words and said, “Dan Campbell said, we’re bringing everybody to the west coast.” Warner then added his harsh words, “But why? To get your a– beat tonight. They gotta leave like this, limping home.” Looks like Amon-Ra St. Brown was listening closely.

During the game, he made 8 catches for 60 receiving yards with 1 touchdown. From the 49ers side, Warner displayed toughness, playing with a broken bone in his ankle. But even he was frustrated with loss. They could have won the game. But the kicker Jake Moody missed 2 FGs, one extra point, along with 1 onside kick.

While the Niners fans got angry with the receiver, some just laughed at the situation. But the Niners player had an opposite reaction to the Lions HC after the loss. They were humble.

Unlike Amon-Ra St. Brown, Nick Bosa uses choice words for Lions’ HC

After the game, the DE Nick Bosa talked to the reporters and praised Dan Campbell. He said, “I don’t think they’re that different. They’ve had a ton of injuries on defense, which hurts them. But the mentality of the head coach. You can see it throughout everybody. It’s really a cool team. Just see from afar. That it is probably a fun team to play for. And they come out and they play to win every game. And I respect that.” That’s right.

In 2024, he led them to a 14-2 win-loss record after week 18. They are the leaders of the NFC North and in the NFC conference. Overall, they have played tough football and are favorites to qualify for the Super Bowl. So, the head coach deserves the praise too.

For the 49ers, it is exactly the opposite. After playing in the Super Bowl last year, they failed to qualify for the playoffs in 2024. After week 18, they have a 6-10 win-loss record. But even the winning percentage has slipped below 0.500. So the fans expect a better end with a win over the Cardinals in the season finale.
