Looks like Ryan Clark is setting himself up for physical violence by Will Smith. He better hope that his recent comments don’t reach The Pursuit of Happyness actor. Known for his hot takes on ESPN’s show NFL Live, he made the remarks in connection with the performance of Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison.

The Vikings are up against their divisional rivals, the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Live. Will the 21-year-old, who’s one of the youngest players in the league right now, manage to keep up his momentum? The Vikings seem to be bouncing back after their three back-to-back losses. And their recent victory is to be specially celebrated since it comes against a formidable enemy.

On the last Monday Night Football, the Vikings led by their star QB Kirk Cousins defeated the 5-1 San Fransisco 49ers. The 49ers had just one defeat going into the match, while the Vikings had four times that. And yet, they managed to win. Reacting to this, analyst Ryan Clark, blasted the 49ers defense saying, “On Monday night, Jordan Addison ran away from these defenders like Jada Pinkett Smith running away from marriage responsibilities. And they’re going to figure out how do they stop Ja’Marr Chase when they couldn’t stop a guy like Jordan Addison.”

This was a not-so-subtle jab at the marriage problems that the Hollywood actor Will Smith and his wife ran into, that ended their 20-year marriage. The actor had told GQ that their marriage became non-monogamous, explaining that “Jada never believed in conventional marriage”. Jada Smith’s commitment issues were the butt of his jokes, but as we saw during the 2022 Oscar, jokes about Will’s ex-wife can invite violence.

On a serious note, the 49ers do need to rethink their strategy after losing to the Vikings. Addison, on the other hand, seems to be making a major comeback.

Rookie Addison made the opposing team’s defense look bad on national TV by scoring 7 passes for 123 yards and 2 TDs while recording an average of 17.6 yards per reception. He was drafted by the Vikings as part of their first-round pick in 2023 and had played for USC in college. After week 7, he has a total of 6 TDs and 29 passes for 400 yards. It doesn’t stop there. He ranks 4th in the league in receiving yards, but No. 1 in receiving touchdowns.

He has been a great addition to the Vikings roster especially since their veteran WR Justin Jefferson was placed on injury reserve after hurting his hamstrings during Week 5. Purple fans are eagerly waiting to see how the two will pair up once he recovers from his injury. The Vikings offense, which hasn’t been extraordinary this season, will see an upgrade when they do.

Till then, Addison will continue to put up a one-man wide receiver show.
