The playoffs are approaching, and the going keeps getting more demanding for the Miami Dolphins. Andy Reid and his soldiers will host the Miami team at Arrowhead in what will be among the coldest games in the history of the NFL. This would be the Dolphins’ real test after losing to the Buffalo Bills.
The Kansas City Chiefs head coach appeared at the press conference ahead of this game and revealed exactly what the team is doing to make sure they get this win. Sadly, Patrick Mahomes has some issues with his ankle, and given this cold weather, practicing at Arrowhead is getting challenging by the day. Here’s coach Reid’s take on the situation.

The questions at the press conference focused on how Andy Reid plans to tackle practicing in cold weather. The reporter asked the coach how he would balance the team in this unforgiving scenario. Reid mentioned the team will not be practicing on the conference day. However, there is always a possibility that the team can practice indoors. The reporter wanted to know the value of practicing outdoors.
Reid replied, “Yeah, I think I like being on the grass as opposed to the artificial surface.” The Chiefs must bring in their A-game stepping forward, which means inculcating new plays and tactics. Of course, that might be a little problematic to do now in this weather because it leaves less room for practicing and ingenuity. Reid said that the team is open to trying new things but needs to be cautious with it. The game will be historic for a few reasons.
Mother Nature affecting the NFL
A tweet from MLFootball has taken the world by storm. Per the post, the Dolphins-Chiefs game will be the coldest in the KC Chiefs’ franchise history. This happened last time in 1983 when the Chiefs played the Broncos at 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit. This game, though, is a bit special because the weather is expected to be 0 degrees Fahrenheit. The winds are predicted to be at 10-20 mph that day.

The coldest game that the Dolphins have played was around 40 degrees Fahrenheit, per Sun Sentinal. However, the Dolphins’ head coach, Mike McDaniel, is hell-bent on bringing the best football game. He said, “You’re talking about playoff football more often than not. If we’re playing in any playoff game that isn’t at home, it probably will be cold. It will be the same temperature for both teams.”
