The Chicago Bears are going through one of their tough phases this season standing at 4-8. Following these underwhelming performances, the scrutiny has naturally turned toward the team with quarterback Justin Fields at its center. As the star football player was asked about the same in a recent interview, he opened up about the speculations surrounding him.

The 24-year-old quarterback has had promising stats surrounding him as he is one of the three quarterbacks to boast a 1000-yard rushing season. Despite this, Fields hasn’t been able to take the Bears to a promising position in the 2023 NFL season. Currently, the Bears are stationed at the bottom of the NFC North division. Subsequently, many eyebrows have been raised toward their QB, who shared an honest opinion concerning the situation.

Courtney Cronin, the Chicago Bears reporter took to her Twitter account to share a snippet of Fields’ honest conversation with the media. Fields was questioned about his future with the Bears, and whether it was “fair to factor into his evaluation over the next 5 games of the season.”

Replying to the question, Fields did not hesitate in saying, “Life isn’t fair so me, personally, I’m just focused on what I can control and the rest is in God’s hands.” His answer to the uncertainty surrounding him and the team currently was to “put everything in God’s hands.” This Fields believed results in positives eventually.

Furthermore, he pointed out how certain elements of the game are out of one’s control, and in the end, it comes down to “faith in God.” He mentioned, “If I’m here next year, if I’m not, football doesn’t define who I am as a person. My happiness will still be in the same place, still be in God. Football wise, life stuff, I think my faith in God, my hope in God is just so much more than anything that can be thrown at me on this earth.

According to the 24-year-old, he was in far more blessed positions than millions of people out there. Fields emphasized, “I’m not taking that for granted. Just taking each and every moment I have, every day up here to the fullest.” While it is great to witness the young athlete have a realistic outlook on the situation, it is salient to note that the Bears have been struggling haplessly on the field in the 2023 season.
