“Quarterbacky, huh!?!? NAAAAHHHHH!! H.I.M.” Those were the words NBA great LeBron James used to describe Lamar Jackson last year. James, a four-time MVP himself, is all too familiar with Jackson’s game. You can often find him sharing his wildest of reactions whenever the two-time MVP shows his true talents on the gridiron. So, with the Ravens AFC divisional round matchup against the Buffalo’s coming closer, James has a message for Jackson.

Like there is no doubt in the capabilities of Lamar, every other season, the Ravens QB is taking his standards to the highest of highs. He has already won his 3rd First Team All-Pro and 4th Pro Bowl within seven years in Baltimore. And he could probably win his third MVP soon if things continue to go his way. But there’s one thing: Jackson has yet to achieve that shiny Super Bowl. Yeah, that’s right. The Ravens QB still hasn’t had the success in the postseason he would have hoped for.

That’s why LeBron, on The New Heights Podcast with Kelce brothers, threw a clear challenge toward Jackson, “If you want to be crowned, you have to…beat the top teams in the AFC and the top teams in the AFC over the last three, 4-5. It’s Buffalo, or it’s KC. So, you know.. in order for Lamar to get to where he says he wants to get. He has to go through Buffalo. He has to go through KC. So, let the games begin.” For real, this clash in Buffalo would be a huge opportunity for Lamar to show what he is truly capable of.

It will be two MVP-calibre players going up against each other. Now, whatever happens throughout the regular season, Lamar is all too familiar with falling short in the postseason. Just take a quick look at last season: Baltimore made it to the AFC title game, hosting the Chiefs at home. However, they couldn’t get through the KC’s losing 17-10. So, that big-game energy will be needed if Jackson truly wants to reach his first Super Bowl. But is everything okay with the Ravens’ QB after his freak injury against the Steelers?

Injuries ain’t stopping Lamar Jackson

Can Lamar Jackson finally silence critics by leading the Ravens to a Super Bowl this season?

Have an interesting take?

Whatever happens, Baltimore’s worst nightmare could come true if Lamar Jackson doesn’t play in Buffalo this week. Without their star QB, the Ravens have only won 4 of their 13 games. Now, what makes that record more concerning is that the Ravens have only averaged 17 points in those games. So, the moment Jackson was kneed in the back during the second quarter against Pittsburgh, there were a few concerned faces in Baltimore. Jackson himself came out and said how he had to wrap his back with a heating pad because of that freak injury.

However, when it was time for him to address fans’ concerns, Lamar said, “I’m good. It really didn’t affect me at all. To be honest with you. Just a little nag. But I’m good. Nothing to worry about.” Even Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he doesn’t expect Jackson to miss any time on the practice field in their preparations for Buffalo, “It doesn’t look that way from what I’ve been told.” Jackson has been an ever-present member of Baltimore since missing his last game in the 2023 regular-season finale.

So, don’t expect Lamar to sit this one out. Going to enemy grounds, Jackson has a point to prove by coming back with a win to Baltimore. Considering that he does get a W against the Bills. Then, at the very least, you could expect him to win his third MVP.
