Quarterbacks are the NFL’s ultimate luxury—every team wants one, but only a handful have the real deal. And this offseason? Pure chaos. Teams are scrambling, front offices are panicking, and veteran QBs are flying off the market like it’s Black Friday. But that’s what makes the draft season so wild. With so many teams desperate for a franchise guy, QB prospects are seeing their stock shoot through the roof. And Shedeur Sanders is no stranger to that.

Let’s be real—a little while ago, Colorado’s receiver/cornerback, Travis Hunter, and Penn State’s Edge Rusher, Abdul Carter, were making waves as two of the top picks in the draft. Fast forward and now and the Tennessee Titans haven’t signed a veteran QB in free agency. So, the mock draft is back to square one—with Cam Ward and Sanders expected to be the top two picks.

Now, see it this way: with their No. 1 overall pick, the Titans are expected to draft Ward on April 24th. That means only one thing: Sanders’ stocks are skyrocketing right about now. The reason? Well, many teams are desperate to draft a QB, but there aren’t many top-tier QBs in this year’s class. That brings one question: where is Sanders standing right about now?

According to the NFL draft analyst, Jordan ReidJets‘ No. 7 pick is still the floor for Sanders,” when he was asked if Sanders is sliding in round 1. Well, that sounds a bit odd considering the Browns (No. 2) and the Giants (No. 3) are also in dire need of a franchise QB. And that’s where things get pretty interesting.

See, Deshaun Watson might miss out on the 2025 season due to his Achilles injury. That means the Cleveland team has an uncertain QB situation in 2025.

Then there are the Giants. Oh, that’s the craziest part. At this point, HC Brian Daboll and general manager, Joe Schoen, aren’t going to leave any chance of drafting a QB. The reason? First off, they already missed out on a QB in the last year’s draft. Second, they need to win in 2025, it’s as simple as that.

To make things even spicier, one AFC executive said, “The Giants are praying that Cleveland takes one of Hunter or Carter because they’d [otherwise] miss out on a QB for the second straight year.” There you go. The Browns and the Giants are basically fighting to draft Sanders in April. The Colorado’s QB has to be throwing a fist pump right now. And why wouldn’t he? Because we’re not done yet.

Reid believes that “the supply of quarterbacks this year isn’t meeting the demand, as teams are still scrambling to sign older veterans such as Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. And that’s another factor that should work in Sanders’ favor.” He’s not wrong, though.

At this point, the Steelers and the Giants have their sight on Rodgers. On the flip side, the Steelers are probably going to re-sign Wilson if Rodgers decide to sign with New York or maybe—just maybe—decides to call it quits. As far as Winston is concerned, he’s coming out of an underwhelming season with the Browns. But if there’s anything this offseason has taught us, it’s that the teams are eyeing veteran QBs over young talents.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Shedeur Sanders the savior the Giants desperately need, or just another overhyped draft prospect?

Have an interesting take?

Amidst all this, one thing’s pretty certain: whether it’s the Browns, Giants, or the Jets: Shedeur Sanders isn’t sliding past the top 10 picks in April.

Is a trade the final option for Brian Daboll’s Giants?

“We don’t know what’s going to happen in the draft. We don’t know who’s going to be there,” the Giants’ general manager, Joe Schoen, said during the NFL Scouting Combine last month. Things are pretty messy in their QB room. With Daniel Jones off to Indianapolis Colts, and Drew Lock’s looking for a new team, Big Blue is now stuck with Tommy DeVito. Final option? To draft either Ward or Sanders.

But let’s be real—that’s certainly not a piece of cake for Daboll and Schoen. The Titans aren’t rolling with Will Levis in 2025, and Deshaun Watson’s future in Cleveland is still a big question mark. So by the time the Giants are on the clock, both Ward and Sanders might already be off the board. BUT! According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Giants are preparing a trade package for the Titans.

“I think the focus has always been to get a quarterback, I think they’ve aggressively called up to Tennessee to try to move up,” Russini said on the Dan Patrick Show. But then again—are the Titans ready for the trade? They haven’t signed a veteran QB. Plus, Will Levis isn’t screaming franchise QB. So yeah, that’s still uncertain. “I don’t get the sense right now out of Tennessee that they’ve made a final decision yet,” Russini further stated.

The Titans have been making headlines about their potential trade option for the No. 1 pick for weeks now. But still, they haven’t made a final decision.

Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders seems to be interested in the Giants. In fact, the guy even praised the head coach. “He’s a great guy, great coach, and he’s definitely a man of his family, so I like coach for sure,” he said. His statement has surely sparked certain speculations around the Giants drafting him in April. But here we are, discussing the NFL mock draft. So nothing’s set in concrete.
