Landon Dickerson brings home his red beast, and ticks off his first check list. The 25-year-old was picked in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft from Alabama. He was about to finish his rookie contract with the Philadelphia Eagles this year.
However, Philly recently signed him to a four-year contract extension. This deal is worth up to $87 million, with $50 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid guard in NFL history. And with this massive break, Dickerson has started putting his money into fulfilling his dreams.
After signing the contract extension with base value of $84 million, Landon Dickerson in a press conference jokingly mentioned that he wanted to use some of his new earnings to buy a new lawnmower, specifically a zero-turn mower. However, he wasn’t just kidding around. He actually went ahead and purchased one.

The NFL insider, Dov Kleiman, posted a video of Dickerson on his official X account, riding in his newly owned lawnmower. The caption on that post reads as: “Awesome: Eagles Landon Dickerson has bought his zero-turn lawn mower! It was the only thing he wanted to buy after signing his massive $84 million extension.”

This video was originally uploaded by the athlete in his Instagram story to show that he followed through on his light-hearted comment. He also captioned the story saying, “I got me a mower!” The video displayed Dickerson sitting on a red-colored Gravely Pro-Turn 560 Kawasaki, a professional-grade zero turn mower with a 60-inch cutting deck valued at around $15k.
He also posted an overhead view of his lawn, revealing that he has a significant amount of grass to cut. It seems like purchasing the riding mower was a wise decision considering the size of his yard. Besides dedicating himself to his lawn, Dickerson also shares the same feeling when it comes to dedicating himself to Philly.

Landon Dickerson wants to be with Eagles forever?
Some days ago, Landon Dickerson recalled his NFL debut with the Eagles in 2021, which didn’t go smoothly. Despite early setbacks and injuries in college, he values his journey with the Eagles immensely. Recently, he signed a lucrative four-year contract extension, becoming the highest-paid guard in the league. This contract shows the trust the team has in the star. Dickerson had the option to wait and explore free agency but he chose to stay with the Eagles, emphasizing his attachment to the organization and his desire to remain a part of it for his entire career.

The left guard said, “Being here has been a tremendous bright spot in my life. And we really didn’t plan on being anywhere else. The only thing I’ve heard of, guys when they leave this organization and go somewhere else, how much they miss everything about this place. For me, I just didn’t want there to be any question about how much I wanted to be here and stick around here and hopefully be here my entire career.”

The Eagles, on the other hand, expect him to continue improving and become a key player, especially with Jason Kelce not being on the team for the first time in the decade. What do you think of the contract decision? Let us know below!
