However, as frustrated as Lamar Jackson was, his teammate Marlon Humphrey is still trying to play mind games to influence the results on the field. He’s taken a shot at the team looking to create history.

Ahead of the NFC Championship clash, he tweeted, “Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Champs. 2 score win today over the Commanders. I’m sorry my fellow DMV people.” But it turned out to be incorrect in one aspect. The Eagles won. But by plenty more than 2 scores. The cornerback seemed delighted at his pick getting one step closer to reality and added some spice, tweeting, “I thought the Eagles were the best team we played this year 🤷‍♂️” Really? That’s a mean jibe at the Chiefs.

Guess his memories of the season opener in which Patrick Mahomes & co. defeated them have faded a bit. But there is another major factor here: is Lamar Jackson’s teammate jealous of his AFC rivals? The 1st round (17th overall) 2017 draft pick of the Ravens has played 8 seasons in the NFL. In 2018, they also got Lamar Jackson in the 1st round (32nd overall). The Ravens signal-caller has performed exceptionally well, winning 2 MVPs with a potential third on the cards.

However, they haven’t been able to stop the Chiefs who have won 3 Super Bowls since then. Patrick Mahomes has outshone him in the trophies department. And that matters. Another record on the line this year is the three-peat. No team has ever done it. And with the league as competitive as it is, it will never be a simple task. If Patrick Mahomes and his team clinch this Super Bowl, everyone will remember their names forever. Their rivals would fade in comparison.

The only contenders left are the Bills and the Eagles. If the Super Bowl LVII finalists meet again, it would be an intense matchup. The last time these two met in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs got a win by scoring 17 points in the 4th quarter.

Jalen Hurts gets another chance to get ahead of Lamar Jackson

It was the NFC Championship game. And the Commanders were coming off a 45-31 win against the Lions. But the Lincoln Financial Field was a sea of green. Jayden Daniels held his poise, but the Eagles’ defense kept pressuring him. In the end, they lost. With 1 passing and 3 rushing TDs, Jalen Hurts dominated as the leader.

The 2nd round (53rd overall) pick of the 2020 draft got a chance to win a Super Bowl in 2023 but lost out to the Chiefs. Two years later, he has another chance, and his team is great, full of game-winners. With Saquon Barkley in the O-line, the threat increases manifold. The only question is, will he be able to take his team one step further? If they succeed, Jalen Hurts will firmly establish himself ahead of Lamar Jackson who hasn’t ever made it to a Super Bowl.
