The Baltimore Ravens pummelled the Steelers and Russell Wilson in the first half of the wildcard game. That was sufficient for them to see out a minor resurgence from the Steelers in the third quarter to see out the game 28-14. The kings of the AFC North have been crowned. Lamar Jackson and Co. are now marching to the divisional round.

There was one big face missing in this important victory – Zay Flowers. He was out for the game due to injuring his knee in the last game of the regular season against the Cleveland Browns. The franchise’s concerns about the wide receiver’s injury were eased a little by the manner of their victory.

After the wild card showdown, Lamar Jackson’s response when asked about the variety of offensive players in the lineup with Flowers out was a clear message to the Ravens waiting in the wings. Jackson responded, “I think some guys are just waiting for an opportunity to show what they’re capable of. Some guys I’ve been along a long time.”
