Considering this, the disparity in his pay and other quarterbacks’ pay has what got everyone bamboozled. The Baltimore Ravens QB contract puts Purdy’s deal to shame. A post from the Front Office Sports X account points out a stark difference between Lamar Jackson and Brock Purdy’s contracts. The post is captioned, “There’s a difference of over $79 MILLION in season earnings between Lamar Jackson and Brock Purdy. Both QBs are now one win away from taking their teams to the Super Bowl.” When calculated, the Percentage Difference Calculator reflects a difference of about 195% in their earnings this season.

It’s notable how the San Francisco 49ers QB signed a 4-year, $3,737,008 contract with the team at the age of 23. Per Spotrac, he made a deal for a base salary of $705,000 with an allowance of $19,253 as a prorated bonus. The bonus amount doesn’t advance more than slightly above the $19k mark. But, starting the 2024 season, Purdy will earn a base salary of $985,000, while carrying a cap hit of $1,004,252 and a dead cap value of $38,504.

It’s worth noting that Purdy got a $77,008 signing bonus, along with a $77,008 guaranteed payout. But Lamar Jackson’s contract makes this deal look like a child’s affair. Because in this season alone, the Baltimore QB had a base salary of $ $14,250,000 and made $80,000,000.

How Lamar Jackson and other big-time QBs finessed Brock Purdy

For starters, Spotrac points out that when action Jackson joined the Baltimore team back in 2018, he got a fat $72,500,000 signing bonus, with $7.5 million in bonus that he will probably receive by the end of the 2023 season. If present on the roster on the 5th day of the 2024 league year, Jackson will earn a 2025 base salary of $14,250,000, a roster bonus of $750,000, and a signing bonus of $17,500,000.

As for Purdy, he will earn a base salary of $985,000, while carrying a cap hit of $1,004,252 and a dead cap value of $38,504 in 2024. In his six seasons in the league, Lamar Jackson has earned a total of $112,774,549, while Purdy, in his two seasons, has just made $1,652,008. Despite Brock Purdy carrying the 49ers to such a new high, his salary remains unjustified. Maybe he will get a renewed contract with the Niners to make it even further.
