Lamar Jackson’s been beefin’ more in courtrooms than end zones lately. First, it was Troy Aikman throwing shade over the whole No. 8 trademark drama, then boom, he’s suddenly in a legal stare-down with Dale Earnhardt Jr. over the same number. Like it’s just a digit, but apparently not when it’s stitched on jerseys and racecars. Safe to say, Lamar’s offseason isn’t exactly a quiet one. The kicker?
Well, amidst this chaos, the Ravens QB has found something to cool down himself, literally and figuratively. We’re talking about his recent appearances in Hollywood. The latest one? Well, Lamar is set to feature on Kevin Hart’s hit series “Cold As Balls.” On Tuesday, Hart took to his official IG handle and shared the news through a sneak peek of his show.
“Thought I was done?? HA! Season 11 of Cold As Balls is here… back with our partner @oldspice …..and with even MORE legendary guests. BamBam and Daryl somehow came back too. 🧊 You’re gonna wanna watch this …only on @lolnetwork YouTube!” Hart captioned his post. And besides Lamar, the more legendary guests include Saquon Barkley, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Rhea Ripley, Kike Hernandez and more.

Hart’s Cold as Balls season 11 is still as icy and unfiltered as ever. The show’s cooked up by Michael D. Ratner and powered by Old Spice (because of course, it is). And if you’re hyped to catch Lamar in a whole new vibe, clear your Tuesdays—new episodes drop every week on the LOL YouTube channel, Cold as Balls’ Facebook, and Hart’s own page.
But let’s be real—it’s definitely not the first time Lamar’s making headlines outside of the gridiron, right? I mean, a few weeks ago, the two-time MVP QB appeared on 50 Cent’s hit show, Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Lamar made a guest appearance in just one episode. His character’s name? E-Tone. His personality? If you ask the QB himself, he’s going to describe E-Tone as “a deadly, dangerous character,” and “you don’t want to get on his bad side… and intimidating figure not to be messed with.”
To make it more interesting, Jackson earlier admitted his desire to appear on the show. “Raising Kanan so Gas⛽️I wanna be in a few episodes🤣🤣,” he posted on his social media handle. Fast forward, and not only did he fulfill his desire to appear on Raising Kanan. In fact, the QBs are now set to appear on Kevin Hart’s hit show: Cold as Balls. However, his off-field disputes are surely giving him nightmares.

Lamar Jackson and his trademark dispute dilemma
If there’s one thing that Lamar Jackson is known for, except for his electric speed and insane playmaking as a dual-threat quarterback, it’s definitely his No. 8 jersey. The QB’s been donning the No. 8 jersey ever since his Louisville days. To top that off, the guy even launched his sportswear line, Era 8 Apparel. However, his Era 8 brand has been making some headlines lately, and not for good reasons.
Earlier this month, Lamar challenged the NASCAR legend, Dale Earnhardt Jr.‘s attempt to trademark a stylized version of the number 8. Then reason? See, Earnhardt Jr. and No. 8 have been in the sports world since the 1990s. And that’s when he kicked off his NASCAR Cup Series journey, driving for DEI (owned by his father). Sure, after his dad’s demise, his step-mother, Teresa Earnhardt, took control of DEI. But last year, Dale Jr. reclaimed the same No. 8 after Teresa didn’t renew it. And that’s where it all got messy.
Lamar believes that the customers could be mistaken for the merchandise offered by these two brands. And to make it more interesting, the Cowboys‘ legend, Troy Aikman, enters this chaos as he advised Jackson over the trademark dispute. “Lamar getting bad counsel. (I) Went through the same legalities with him. Who’s next?” Aikman commented on the Sports Illustrated IG post. The reason?

Well, it’s not the first time that Lamar has been a part of a trademark conflict for his Era 8 brand. Last year, the QB went after FL101 Inc., a company tied to Aikman, all because they tried trademarking the word “EIGHT.” The catch? See, Aikman’s brand doesn’t include the No. 8. In fact, Aikman’s brand spells out in capital letters “EIGHT.” But still, Lamar believes that it could confuse the customers who are using the Era 8 merchandise.
For the time being, Lamar’s little number feud with the NASCAR legend is all wrapped up—but the one with the Cowboys’ icon? Yeah, that one’s still hanging in the air like a Hail Mary with no receiver in sight.
