The Baltimore Ravens just fell one game short of winning a Lombardi Trophy. So, to change things, they shuffled their roster around and added the RB Derrick Henry to the roster. Before that happened, Henry reportedly sought a partnership with the Dallas Cowboys, as he was there for a while. But as luck would have it, the RB joined the Ravens.
Henry went to The Rich Eisen Show, and the conversation between the two was invigorating. The duo discussed Henry’s plan with the Ravens going forward and how he would face playing alongside the 2x MVP Lamar Jackson. It’s safe to say that the RB is committed to the act and will bring his A-game to the field.

The stalwart reporter initially discussed with Henry how he was taking a look at the Dallas Cowboys, but he didn’t end up joining the team. The conversation shifted to hypothetical scenarios about what the RBs’ first game alongside Lamar Jackson would look like. Eisen asked Henry, “You’re standing next to Lamar Jackson, pre-snap, what are you thinking?”
The former OPOY was excited with the prospect of playing with Jackson. “I’ll just tell 8, you know Lee I’mma be right behind you. Um, this his team; I’m just coming in to try to enhance it in any way, um, do my job the best way I know how, um, help the offense, um just try to be an added piece to get us over that hump to hopefully uh contend for um the big one,” said Henry.
He added, “But I know that um you got to put the work in first starting in the off-season and um I’m the new guy of block so got to earn that respect from those guys who’ve been there who put the work in and um who’s helped establish that culture while they’ve been there as well.”
Earlier in the conversation, the RB mentioned wanting to play for the Ravens, mainly because the Baltimore team prefers to run the ball more than most, which might make him a core part of the offense. But even before he signed with the Ravens, he had a proclivity to play with Lamar Jackson.
The Ravens RB wanted to play with Jackson forever as the Ravens approach the off-season
Even before signing a 2-year $20 million deal with the Ravens, Henry always used to think highly of Lamar Jackson. The All-Pro mentioned that he considered playing with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens for a while. He had a few things to say about joining the introductory press conference.
“I’ve definitely thought about it,” said Henry and expanded by saying, “[Lamar Jackson] ‘s one of the best if not the best player in this league. I’ve had respect for him ever since he came into this league [with] his body of work and what he’s been able to do, and [I have] respect for this organization as well.”
As the Ravens are approaching the offseason, a new 3-phase schedule is already out. There will be meetings, physical rehabilitation, and conditioning in Phase 1. Phase 2 will have a 3-week training regimen where the offensive players will line up with offensive players and vice versa for defensive players.
