When the Chiefs took down the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII, no one could’ve guessed what was coming next. Now, they’re staring down history, needing to beat the Eagles again to secure an epic 3-peat. Even George R.R. Martin couldn’t dream up a story like this. But let’s not forget the Eagles, who are also eyeing their second Super Bowl title after six years. It’s the right time to pick up the favorites and let’s start it with Lamar Jackson.
This was another embarrassing postseason for the Ravens‘ QB. The Buffalo Bills crushed Jackson’s dreams of lifting his maiden Super Bowl title in the divisional round. However, looks like the two-time MVP has picked up his side ahead of the Super Bowl LIX. A few moments ago, Jackson hit up his official Instagram handle and shared a story of the Chiefs’ wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. Spoiler alert: it is a message to Brown ahead of the Super Bowl clash.
“Congratulations bra let’s get it @primetime_jet,” Jackson wrote in his story. Uh-huh? Looks like Lamar Jackson is all set to support the reigning champions in the Super Bowl. Who knows? Maybe the QB wants the Chiefs to snag that 3-peat too!

But here’s the catch. Before the AFC championship round, the Ravens’ QB picked up a side too, not for the conference championship but for the Super Bowl. Any guesses? Well, Jackson picked the Bills as his favorite for the title. “Great players recognize greatness,” Jackson said, as reported by Syracuse.com. “We both recognized each other, you know? But I told him, ‘Man, go get something, go win something, man. MVP, Super Bowl, do something. I want him to be successful’.”
It turns out, the reigning champions knocked the Bills out already. But hey, wouldn’t it be wild if Jackson ends up rooting for the Chiefs to snag their third straight Super Bowl win? His recent story about the wide receiver actually gives us a little tease about who he might be supporting, don’t you think?

But what about Patrick Mahomes’ $7M Weapon?
Alright, it’s safe to say that the wide receiver returned to the active roster at a perfect time. After the nail biting victory over the Bills, Brown shared that post posing with the AFC championship trophy with a caption that said, “Gods Plan!!” Indeed! Not just for the Chiefs, but for the WR as well. I mean, the Chiefs signed him on a one-year contract worth $7 million, including $3 million signing bonus and $6.5 million guaranteed.
The kicker? Well, Brown joined the veteran group of wide receivers with teammates DeAndre Hopkins and JuJu Smith-Schuster. However, he suffered a sternoclavicular injury during the Chiefs’ pre-season and was placed on IR. That said, the 27-year-old WR played just two games in the regular season.

Then came the postseason. Still, he didn’t get the start that he might have expected. He finished the divisional round against the Texans with zero interceptions on two targets. However, in the conference championship round against the Bills, Brown was targeted five times. He completed three interceptions for 35 yards.

He could’ve had a bigger score if he’d managed to reel in that deep sideline pass from Patrick Mahomes in the second half—it literally hit him right in the hands. But as the WR himself says, it was the God’s plan. Now, he must be hoping to get a good start in the most important game of his career, the Super Bowl LIX.
