Just to get an idea, put yourself in Lamar Jackson’s shoes. They won the AFC North division by a 12-5 win-loss record. The players are putting up a performance that puts fear in the hearts of rivals. Against the Texans, they had a blowout 31-2 victory in week 17. But for the quarterback, everything can take a backstand for now. There are levels to his happiness.

After winning the week 18 game against the Browns by 35-10, Jackson was unusually calm. While talking with the reporters, he gave up on celebrations to top the division and said, “I’m focused on the wild card game, I’m not going to lie to you. I’m cool with what’s going on today, but my mind is on something else.” For those of you who don’t know, the Ravens will play their wild-card game next weekend (either on the 11th, 12th, or 13th of January).

They would be up against the team (between Steelers and Chargers) with more wins. Both teams have a 10-6 win-loss record after week 17. With a star-studded O-line, Jackson found significant support from RB Derrick Henry (11 touchdowns in 1,783 rushing yards) and TE Mark Andrews (10 touchdowns in 619 yards). Not only the fans but even the coaches and players consider a great team.

They also led the league in the AFC Pro Bowl roster with nine players selected. The defense has also done a great job. Safety Kyle Hamilton has 104 tackles (74 solo) with 2 forced fumbles, 1 interception, and 9 passes defended. It’s a time for the celebrations. But the quarterback put a stop to that.

The Ravens’ star has a dream to conquer. Qualifying for the playoffs was the first step. The enormous task still awaits. If they do it, it would be a fitting homage to their great season. But what’s going on in Jackson’s mind?
