Are you ready to witness the rivalry between the top two teams of the AFC North? We can’t keep calm about this one. The coming week will be full of action and drama as the wild card round approaches. This week will once again bring the divisional foes, the Ravens and the Steelers, face to face. Both teams have already faced off twice this season with each winning one game. Now, the third meeting will be the deciding one. Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has a few ‘cold’ concerns amid this heated rivalry. So, just in case you’ve missed out on these concerns of the Ravens’ star, we’ve got you covered.
As the Ravens gear up to take their team to the divisional round, their QB dropped an interesting tidbit about himself. And that is—Lamar Jackson is not a big fan of the cold weather. In a conversation with the media, the Ravens’ star RB Derrick Henry was asked about playing in cold weather conditions.
To which, King Henry replied, “I don’t care, we got to play. Whether it’s cold, raining, hot, I go out there and get the job done.” Lamar Jackson then couldn’t help but chime in quickly, saying, “I’d rather not be cold.”

Well, we can relate to him. Most of us want to be wrapped up in warm, cozy blankets in chilly weather, rather than running errands. With the game sure to heat the atmosphere in Maryland, Jackson shouldn’t be worrying about the cold weather. On top of that, he has King Henry on his side. And the Ravens QB knows this well.
“But you said we got Derrick Henry, so that’s a bonus. It’s great, man. It’s great, man. I don’t believe nobody likes hitting in the cold. No one’s like, not even the defenders like hitting in the cold, I believe, especially with like a 250-pound, almost running back, running downhill at you. I wouldn’t want to do it, but it’s great for us,” added Jackson. It’s indeed a bonus to have Derrick on the squad.
Derrick and Lamar make a powerful duo, with their respective fans often arguing that their favorite should be the MVP.
Derrick Henry backs Lamar Jackson in the ‘MVP’ race
King Henry has been an enormous factor in the Ravens‘ success this year. After joining forces with Lamar Jackson-led Ravens this season, he has put up impressive numbers on the board. So far in the regular season, the former Tennessee player has racked up 1,921 yards with 16 TDs to his name. He’s also had 325 rushing attempts. Pretty impressive, right?
With those numbers, Derrick’s fans are all about arguing that he’s the real MVP contender this year over Lamar Jackson. And honestly, they’ve got a case. No doubt about it. And with all the QB comparisons going around, Derrick finally spoke up to clear the air on the whole thing.
“You can put anybody by Lamar, and they’re going to have a hell of a year. It’s just the type of player that he is. My success shouldn’t knock his, or vice versa,” said the 31-year-old. Well, people can chill now. Supporting your favorite player doesn’t mean you’ve gotta bash with the other guy. Plus, there are more contenders in the MVP race. It’s not like Lamar’s already got it in the bag.
Adding to his comment, Henry also shared the reason he joined the Ravens, as he wanted to share the gridiron with the star QB. “Lamar is the main reason why I came here. It was to play with a Hall of Fame quarterback… He’s the best player in the league, and it’s only going to get better from here,” said Henry.
