During that post-game interview with Fox’s Erin Andrews, Brandon Aiyuk of the 49ers recounted an unusual pre-game occurrence that seemed to foreshadow the day’s success. He told Erin, “Before the game, a ladybug landed on my shoe.” Through his statements, he was trying to imply that this brought good luck and perhaps divine favor to their game. Not to mention, his catch after a near-interception of a pass from Purdy proved crucial in the 49ers’ stunning comeback.
Aiyuk attributed his on-field success to the ladybug incident. Along with that, he enthusiastically added, “Bang bang Niner gang. It’s crazy.” The results might’ve been different if Aiyuk hadn’t made not one but two catches.

The ball hit Lions cornerback Kindle Vildor’s facemask and after that, it miraculously landed in Aiyuk’s hands despite a tangled struggle between the two players.
