I feel like Dortch is unguardable. One-on-one, knowing where to be in the zones, he’s got the nuance and savvy in him that you want in a receiver, and not everyone has that. It’s not very common. If he were 6-3 he’d have been a top-five pick. That’s what I think,” Kyler Murray appreciated his WR Greg Dortch previously. His remark showcased Arizona QB’s amazing leadership skills.

And, even amidst the busy offseason for the Cardinals, Murray, 27, who recently received the “mixed result” grade among NFL quarterbacks drafted in the first round since 2010, once again captured many hearts. This time, he is making waves by giving a major shoutout to his teammate: TE Trey McBride.

By one of his IG story posts, the two-time Pro Bowler expressed his admiration for McBride for his latest jaw-dropping milestone. Along with re-sharing the Arizona Cardinals’ post, he dropped the 2 word message for McBride, 25, who appeared in 49 games during his first three NFL seasons. “That boy!” he wrote. He also addressed him as ‘Trey Skii, ‘ with blessing hands and laughing face emoji.

It seems like Kyler Murray’s top target is having another exciting year following his career-best season in 2024. And Murray’s latest praise is a testament to this. But, it raises a question: why did the QB praise him?

So, here’s the tea. The Arizona Cardinals made the biggest announcement of Pro Bowler TE’s 4-year (2025-2029) contract extension deal. “Locked him in,” they noted. Hence, Murray promptly expressed his elation over his new hefty contract deal.

Well, Murray’s thrill is quite obvious, as Trey McBride 25’s new contract deal with the Cardinals even made him stand atop among the NFL TEs. Even his new deal surpassed the NFL’s highest-paid Chiefs TE, Travis Kelce.

The three Super Bowl-winning TE Kelce was the NFL’s highest-paid tight end previously. But, now, under this new deal, Cardinals TE Trey will earn around $1.9 million more annually than the 10-time Pro Bowler.

Well, surpassing the highly paid TE is another big accomplishment for Trey. Indeed, his latest deal showcases Trey’s determination on the field. Last season, the unanimous All-American awardee recorded 111 catches for 1,146 yards, ranking second among tight ends behind Brock Bowers. With his record-breaking deal and performance, Trey McBride has truly established himself as one of the NFL’s elite TEs.
