Disagreements are common in football and when they involve two teammates, fans often witness temper tantrums and on-field antics. A similar situation erupted during the San Francisco 49ers’ SNF clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During the game, WR Deebo Samuel was seen involved in a heated exchange at the sideline with teammates Taybor Pepper and Jake Moody over the kicker’s missed field goal. Now, HC Kyle Shanahan has shared his stance over Moody’s miss.
According to 49ers’ beat writer Tracy Sandler, HC Shanahan defended Moody and blamed the winds for the misses. He said, “I thought it wasn’t the easiest place to kick in. The wind was weird, especially the direction in which he missed the stuff, it was different…” The HC further added that for him, the kicker finished the game quite well and “moved on to the next week with it.”

Well, let’s be honest, the 49ers’ sideline looked quite tense after the missed field goal. When Samuel approached the sideline, the cameras captured him exchanging words and then shoving Pepper in the throat. Following this, the WR glanced at the side of Moody’s helmet. However, later, while talking about this at the post game interviews, the kicker mentioned that Samuel’s actions were out of frustration and so he didn’t want any “apology” from the 28-year-old over this incident.
Kyle Shanahan ‘satisfied’ with the current situation inside the 49ers’ locker room after Deebo Samuel’s sideline clash with Jake Moody
Kyle Shanahan mentioned that initially Deebo Samuel’s scuffling episode with two of his teammates “didn’t seem to be too big of a deal”. However, the HC added that after waiting for the replay of that incident, he had a talk with his team and they have ‘squashed’ this issue internally.

Although it was quite a dramatic game, in the end, things panned out in the 49ers’ favor as they beat the Bucs to a 23-20 victory. Shanahan and Co. will host the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium for their week 11 clash on November 17, Sunday. The HC will surely hope that the kicker rectifies his errors instead of repeating them next Sunday. Things remain normal amongst the team as they get closer to the end of the regular season as they push for January games.
