In the 4th quarter of the 49ers vs Lions week 17 matchup, Brock Purdy was trying to find an open player to pass the ball. But the SS Brian Branch came running from his right. It was too late before the QB could see him. He tried to turn back but was pulled down before the DE Pat O’Connor jumped on him. It was a painful tackle for the QB.
During the tackle, Purdy’s right elbow got injured. Fans were fearful of a serious injury, but HC Kyle Shanahan’s statement would lighten up their moods. In the post-game conference, he revealed that Brock Purdy suffered a non-serious ‘nerve injury’ on his right elbow. As QB’s status for the last game Cardinals was up in the air, he said, “Just talking to the doctors, he just got hit in the right spot. When you get hit there, your nerves go and you can’t feel much, but hopefully it’ll be alright.”

Many things happened in the game that the Niners would like not to repeat. Jake Moody missed 2 field goal attempts, one extra point, and an onside kick. Fans were so angry that they requested the management to release him.
Even from the QB’s perspective, Jared Goff was better than Brock Purdy. While the Lions QB had 26 of 34 passes in 303 passing yards with 3 touchdowns, the 49ers QB recorded 27 of 35 passes in 377 yards with 3 touchdowns, but he also had 2 interceptions. This caused them to suffer a 34-40 loss.
However, everyone is worried about the QB now. He also revealed the injury status. It might make the fans a bit stressed.
Brock Purdy talks about resurfaced injury
It was evident after Brian Branch’s sack that the signal caller was in discomfort. While talking about it after the game, he said, “Doesn’t feel the best. My arm was on fire. Tried throwing couple on sideline and couldn’t. … Did tests with UCL but it was good in that regard.”
