Home/NFL

For almost a decade, Kyle Juszczyk has been the 49ers’ ultimate cheat code—blocking like a tank, catching passes like a WR, and leading with that quiet-but-deadly energy. He’s the dude making the plays that don’t always go viral but win games. But could his time in the Bay be wrapping up? His wife, Kristin Juszczyk, just dropped a message that has fans spiraling—and yeah, it might just hint at what’s next.

Kristin took to IG with a super emotional post, looking back on everything she and Kyle have built in SF. From turning teammates into family to riding the wild highs and brutal lows, the Bay has been their home for eight years. And just when fans thought it might be the end of an era, she hit ‘em with a six-word plot twist: “Kyle’s curtain isn’t closed just yet.”

Juszczyk has been that guy since he landed in SF in 2017 after balling out with the Ravens. Fullbacks don’t always get love in today’s NFL, but Juice? Different story. He can block, run, catch—dude does it all. Kyle Shanahan basically built a whole section of the playbook around him, and it’s paid off big time.

One of his biggest OMG moments came in Super Bowl LIV against the Chiefs, when he made history as the first Harvard guy to ever score a TD in the Super Bowl. That 15-yard snag had Niners fans losing their minds and proved (again) that he’s built for the big moments.

And let’s talk about consistency—Juice has been to nine straight Pro Bowls, more than any fullback in NFL history. The respect he gets from teammates and coaches is next-level. Shanahan literally called him “indispensable to our offense.” And he’s right.

George Kittle, Juice’s No. 1 hype man, summed it up best: “Having Juice in the backfield makes everyone’s job easier. He’s a leader and a playmaker.” When a guy like Kittle is singing your praises, you know you’re legit.

What’s your perspective on:

"49ers fans, how do you feel about Kyle Juszczyk's two-year extension? Is he worth it?"

Have an interesting take?

But it’s not just his skills on the field—Juice is a locker room legend. He’s the guy setting the tone, mentoring younger players, and keeping the vibes immaculate. His grind, leadership, and energy have made a massive impact on this team.

So, what’s next for Kyle Juszczyk? If Kristin’s post is anything to go by, he’s not done yet. Whether he’s out there making plays or continuing to be a cornerstone of the Niners’ culture, one thing’s for sure—Juice still has plenty left in the tank, and Niners fans aren’t ready to say goodbye just yet.

The 49ers run it back with their fullback GOAT

Ever heard of the speed of light? The 49ers’ management team is faster than that. Just days after the 49ers cut Kyle Juszczyk, he’s right back where he belongs. The Niners pulled a classic salary cap move, but no need to panic—Juice is locked in on a two-year, $8 million deal. Crisis averted.

So, why’d they cut him in the first place? Basically, the team was playing 4D chess with the salary cap. His original 2025 cap hit was $6.49 million, and cutting him freed up about $2.92 million. But then, boom—$3.35 million in dead money. Clearly, the front office realized they couldn’t just let him walk. Dude’s too valuable. But the 49ers fans’ reactions are a bit different, a mixture of hot and cold kinda.

And the Niners didn’t stop there. They’ve been in their GM era this offseason, signing TE Luke Farrell (three years, $20.25M), WR Demarcus Robinson (two years, $9.5M), and safety Richie Grant (one year). Juszczyk staying just makes this squad even more stacked.

If you need a reminder of why Juice is that guy, just know he was one of the first players Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch signed when they took over in 2017. Since then? He’s been the glue of this offense—blocking, catching, running, and doing all the dirty work that doesn’t always make the highlight reel but wins games. Oh, and he’s been to the Pro Bowl every single year since joining the Niners. That’s EIGHT straight. First-team All-Pro in 2023. Second-team in 2024. Still ballin’.

And yeah, fullbacks don’t usually get love in today’s NFL, but Juice? Built different. He’s caught nearly 400 passes, stacked up over 2,600 receiving yards, and hit the end zone 24 times. Meanwhile, some teams don’t even use a fullback anymore. Casuals just don’t get it.

His teammates? Absolutely hyped. George Kittle wasted no time posting a pic with Christian McCaffrey and Juszczyk, captioning it “Boys are back together.” CMC kept it simple with a “Back” and the handshake emoji. Short, sweet, and straight to the point.

At 33, Juszczyk might be closer to retirement than his rookie days, but let’s be real—if Shanahan still has a role for him in this offense, who’s questioning it? Not the Faithful. Juice still has a lot of gas left in the tank.
