The Detroit Lions are carving a historic path for themselves this time around. After a very successful regular season, in which they recorded their first-ever divisional championship status after 1993. Their postseason is also going fantastically. Legendary quarterback Kurt Warner believes it’s because of their acute drafts.

There is an old saying that teams win Super Bowls on draft days. And as the Lions keep on treading on historical grounds, breaking record after record. It will be very tough to deny the former Super Bowl winner’s opinion.

The Lions roared on the Draft

The 52-year-old former QB for the Los Angeles Rams correctly pointed out the impact rookies are having this year for the Lions. And with undeniable talent and skill at display, time has proven to be on the Lions’ side.

Rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs and tight end Sam LaPorta have been exceptional for the Lions. And both of them will be in tight contention for the coveted ‘Rookie of the Year’ award.

The Lions on the backs of these rookies and skilful veterans are through the NFC Championship round. With the Super Bowl just one game away from the Lions, they are set to make history. But this Super Bowl win won’t be the only record they’ll break. They have already broken several others.

Records are meant to be shattered

With their win against the Rams in the wild-card game, the Lions recorded their first-ever playoff win in 32 long years. Their divisional round victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is the first time since 1957 that the Lions won back-to-back playoff games.

In the NFC conference, the Lions are the only team that has never won the Super Bowl. And only the second team in the entire league that has never been to the Super Bowl. But with only one game remaining between them and the Super Bowl, the Lions can march unshackled.
