In a move as swift as a well-executed flea-flicker, Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper sent coach Frank Reich packing on Monday. Not wasting any time dropping the axe, Tepper made the call less than 24 hours after he exited the locker room. Sunday’s showdown against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville ended in a gut-wrenching 17-10 loss, sealing Reich’s fate.

Reich’s Carolina crusade concluded with an NFL-low 1-10 record, and this gridiron misfortune also etches Reich’s name in the record books as the first head coach to be pink-slipped in consecutive seasons since the NFL- AFL merger in 1970. However, every storm has a silver lining, and in this case, it’s a silver lining wrapped in crisp green bills. While the Panthers have a new coach to settle with, the former head can find some relief in the cash flow continuing in his direction.

Frank Reich finally faced the drastic brunt after the Panthers’ offense put on a disappointing scoring display once again. 15 points or fewer for the fifth week straight and the seventh time in 11 games was the last string holding the coach’s position in place, it seems.

Now, even though Reich won’t be calling the shots for the prowling cats anymore, rumor has it that his bank account is about as solid as a goal-line defense. MLFootball dropped the bomb on social media platform ‘X’ remarking, “WILD… Recently fired head coach Frank Reich will make about 25 THOUSAND DOLLARS a day from the #Panthers for the next 3 years to do NOTHING.”

According to reports, the Colts will continue to pay the coach his old amount, $9 million per year until 2026, totaling a jaw-dropping $36 million. Meanwhile, special teams coordinator Chris Tabor steps up to the plate as the interim head coach. But wait, Reich wasn’t the only one waving goodbye to the Panthers. There are more names who have bid adieu to the Carolina team.

The coaching carousel spins as the Panthers hit the reset button

In a move that shook the Panther’s coaching staff, owner David Tepper didn’t just stop at bidding farewell to head honcho Frank Reich. He went all out and sacked the quarterback coach Josh McCown and the assistant head coach/RB guru, Duce Staley.

McCown and Staley were supposed to be the architects of a football revolution, brought in to mold a young quarterback and whip up an offense that’d make defenses lose sleep. Unfortunately, reality hit harder than a blindside hit, and through 11 games, that grand plan looked all done and dusted.  The hope was high, the potential palpable, but alas, the actual picture was the complete opposite.
