So, Woody Johnson broke Rex Ryan‘s heart. After a long and drawn-out search, the New York Jets finally landed their man for next season. In what seemed like the final piece to their coaching puzzle, the Jets decided to bring in none other than Lions’ defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn to take the reins. Glenn, who’s been building a solid resume in Detroit, now has a fresh opportunity to lead the Jets. But, as the team builds its empire from scratch, the interesting question is: does quarterback Aaron Rodgers fit into the equation? And guess what? A former Super Bowl champion thinks he doesn’t.
Whenever you think about the Jets these days, you can’t help but wonder what’s going to happen to Aaron Rodgers. After two disappointing seasons, it seems like it’s high time to make a decision. And now that the new coach is here, will he make that call? Keyshawn Johnson is 100% sure of that.
On an episode of Fox Sports’ Speak, Keyshawn said some things Rodgers might not find very ‘pleasant.’ So, if you’re someone who loves tea, let’s ‘spill’ some for you. Talking about the new HC, Johnson said, “He will not start his career with Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback in September. And if he does, then I’m walking from Calabasas at 4 a.m., in the morning to the studio, the whole walk with you with nothing on the boxers,”

Now, if you remember, there have been talks of Aaron Rodgers controlling the Jets’ management. And bringing his favorites onto the team. If rumors are to be believed, he’s the reason behind Robert Saleh’s firing. Taking a shot at those rumors, Keyshawn added, ” I’m just letting you know he ain’t going to start his career with that mess. He’s not going to happen. He’s not going to allow somebody to tell him what he’s doing. Don’t put that pressure on that man.”
But another ESPN’s radio host thinks that Rodgers won’t be going anywhere.

New York Jets might not have stayed in competition this year, but the controversial headlines? Oh, don’t even ask. From owner Woody Johnson to QB Aaron Rodgers, most people from the Jets team have found themselves in hot waters. For Aaron Rodgers, he couldn’t bring the team a Super Bowl trophy, but he sure brought himself a lot of heat and controversy. The veteran QB was accused of avoiding medical tests to hide his injuries. Woody Johnson had his fair share of drama, too. He was busted for taking the team’s decisions based on what his teen sons had to say. And now, the biggest headline everyone is waiting for is Aaron Rodgers’ future with the team.
Well, Jets fans want a young, fresh talent on the team. Most analysts have been saying something similar, that Aaron Rodgers could serve as the backup QB. But the Jets need a young starting QB. There are so many assumptions, and so many theories, with reporters trying to dig up some news about Rodgers’ future. And ESPN radio’s Michael Kay has some tea for all of us. According to Kay, “There is word out there — there’ve been leaks I’ve heard — that whatever they pay Aaron Glenn, Aaron Glenn has made it known that he would like to keep Aaron Rodgers.“

So, does that mean Keyshawn Johnson’s gotta gear up for that 4 a.m. stroll from Calabasas to the studio? Who knows! Things are always wild and unpredictable when it comes to this stuff. You could throw down some bets on takes like these, but honestly, it’s probably smarter to just sit back and see how it all plays out.
