Kevin Zeitler joined the NFL in 2012 and quickly became one of the most revered O-linemen. He stayed a Bengal for most of his career, had a brief stint with the New York Giants, and then transferred to the Baltimore Ravens, where he served as one of the critical pieces in the trenches. But his life required a lot of shaping before he could join the NFL.
Speaking of shaping up and improving, Zeitler’s parents have played a psmith and soul nike air jordan 1 elevate low decathlon bmx custom maple leafs jersey castelli gabba nike air jordan 1 elevate low brock purdy jersey decathlon bmx sac à dos eastpak jock strap 8 ft kayak asu football jersey penn state jersey latex hood keyvone lee jersey ivotal role in helping him land in the NFL. He got the smarts of an accountant and a teacher, which sure helped him with the math and science behind the plays. Thanks to this, the Bengals saw his potential and figured out he could play a guard and a center.

How did Kevin Zeitler contribute to a “brainy” Bengals O-Line?
Growing up, he focused the same on academics as football. He was one of the most intelligent when he joined the Bengals. He played alongside Kyle Cook, one of the most innovative centers. However, his 3.8 GPA in school and 3.0+ GPA in college might have been a factor considered at the time of his hiring. That achievement goes to his parents, who pushed Zeitler to be studious early on.

Not much information is available about his parents, but they lived in Milwaukee at some point. His father is an accountant, and his mother is a preschool teacher. However, Zeitler did mention that he had a knack for studying and enjoyed being academically inclined.
“My parents stressed doing well academically, and I always wanted to do well on tests,” he said. “I think it helped with understanding football and what’s going on in front of you.” His being hired by the Bengals resulted from his smartness and academic penchant.

The center-cum-guard likes reading a lot. In an interview, he mentioned that he liked the Dragon Tattoo series. His big brain even got Jay Gurden (offensive coordinator at the time) to reconsider his strategies. His versatility as a center and guard, his smartness, and his headstrong attitude are what the Bengals liked before they decided to pick him.

When asked about Zeitler’s football acumen, Gurden said, “Pretty smart. A lot smarter than I am. It’s kind of disturbing in that sense. But it’s very important,” and added, “Not to mention, he can play center. Hopefully he’ll be a solid backup center for us… We need that part of his game. The more he can do, the better he is.”
Gurden later added: “That’s part of the reason we had a major attraction toward him, because we feel like he’s a very versatile guy and a very smart guy and able to pick up an offense very early. That goes a long way.”
