The Cleveland Browns are really struggling in the quarterback department, and that’s no cap! It’s giving major losses. And the Browns faithful are out here looking like the “This is fine” meme while their QB situation is burning to the ground. But hold up there! Before you start singing “In My Feelings” Drake-style about another disappointing season, there might be a plot twist coming. The football gods have blessed the Browns with the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. And let’s just say it looks like the perfect alley-oop for Kevin Stefanski to catch.
This Friday, The Faculty’s show was diving into it, and Chase Daniel had some thoughts. He said, “I like the best player in the draft right now, and it’s Abdul Carter. You’re telling me you can get a generational guy that has the ceiling, in my opinion, not just because he wore 11 at Penn State—not just because he looks like Micah Parsons, but that’s how good I think this guy could potentially get.” So, is Abdul going to be a solid pick for Stefanski’s squad?
Chase didn’t leave us hanging on that one, either. He said, “You have the best defensive line in football. And they had to get a new quarterback right now, especially after the mistake they made with Deshaun Watson.” Imagine trading a rising star for a wild card—are you ready to ditch Shedeur for Abdul? So yeah, the Browns definitely need a QB, but why is Abdul Carter’s name popping up everywhere?

Kevin Stefanski and the Browns are in a tough spot with their quarterbacks, but there’s a straightforward solution: draft a QB with the No. 2 pick. Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders should be available when the Browns make their selection next month, right? You’d think choosing a quarterback would be a no-brainer.
But hold up! The Browns are actually considering other options. There’s buzz about them possibly picking Penn State’s Abdul Carter instead—even after signing Myles Garrett to a huge deal.
Fans understand the appeal of having two top-notch defensive ends—it sounds great. But come on, you need a quarterback first! So far, the only quarterback addition this offseason has been Kenny Pickett.
Why not just do what everyone is hoping for and draft a QB? With Ward likely going No. 1 to the Titans, it all comes down to whether they’re interested in Sanders. Funny enough, the concern was that Sanders wouldn’t want to play there, but Deion seems cool with it.
It looks like a clear shot at Sanders! The Browns shouldn’t stress over this unless they trip over themselves. This should be an easy call for Cleveland—it’s pretty obvious. Their quarterback situation was a mess last year, and the fix is right there.
Instead, they’re exploring other options, which is puzzling for both fans and analysts. What happens when a Penn State football sensation meets the mastermind behind the Browns?

“Yeah, that’d be dope,” Carter said in February. “Myles is one of the guys I study, one of the guys I watch. Just his game—the way he impacts the game as a pass rusher and as a defender overall, even on special teams, jumping over the pile and blocking kicks. He’s one of the guys I studied, and I try to emulate my game after him.” His words reflected his interest in joining the Browns.
This meeting with Carter is happening the same week the Browns held private workouts with three top quarterbacks in this draft class. Haslam, Berry, and Stefanski evaluated Miami’s Cam Ward, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, and Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart, each working out separately from their pro days. They are also planning a similar private workout with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders after his pro day on April 2 in Boulder.
So, who do you think will be the Browns’ next quarterback?
