Just when the Browns thought that Jameis Winston could at least help them finish this season strong, he has somewhat made it worse. And that might have cost him his place in the lineup. Coming into Sunday’s clash, the Browns didn’t really have high hopes of getting a result against the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Chiefs. However, what Winston gave them wasn’t something that the Browns saw coming.

He threw a whopping 3 interceptions before getting hooked in the final quarter. After his third interception, the Browns HC Kevin Stefanski decided to throw in backup QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Well, the second-year player didn’t impress either. Playing out the closing quarters, Thompson-Robinson also threw an interception. He completed just 4 of his 9 passes for only 18 yards.

As for Stefanski, the Browns HC is still unsure whether there will be a change in signal-caller next week. Sharing his thoughts after their 11th defeat, Stefanski was like, “I’m not going to get into any decisions right now.” And how could he because there aren’t any good options on the bench? So the Browns HC instead diverted the question and started praising Jameis Winston for his hard work, “This is not about one person. I want to make that very clear. Jameis does a great job preparing for these games. He’s fighting his tail off, and I appreciate that from him.”

But seeing Jameis Winston’s numbers this year, it doesn’t look like he is the solution. After taking over Deshaun Watson in week 8, Winston has 9 interceptions to his name. Even today, under his guidance, the Browns turned the football over six times. This led Stefanski to come out and say, “You cannot turn the football over six times and expect to win any football game at any level.” But their problems at QB aren’t the only thing that will give Stefanski headaches. He now has to deal with losing their running back, Nick Chubb, to a broken foot.

Nick Chubb’s broken foot adds more trouble to Kevin Stefanski’s Browns

All you can say is that Nick Chubb is going through one of his worst phases in the NFL. After tearing his MCL and ACL in 2023, Nick Chubb didn’t play until week 7 of this season. Yes, Chubb was out from week 2 of last season and also missed Cleveland’s first six games this year. However, Chubb was finally finding his feet after coming back from dual-injury blows. Before facing the Chiefs, he had 291 rushing yards to his name, alongside 3 rushing TDs.

What’s your perspective on:

Is it time for the Browns to move on from Jameis Winston after another disappointing performance?

Have an interesting take?

Even on Sunday, Chubb had 41 rushing yards on his nine carries. But a broken foot will now probably end his 2024 early. Well, Chubb had a good run in the NFL after getting drafted back in 2018. In his rookie season, the Browns RB rushed for 996 yards and completed 8 rushing TDs. And his productions didn’t drop at all. Over the next four seasons, Chubb crossed 1,000 yards carries in each of them. His four Pro Bowl awards speak for themselves, showcasing how crucial he was to the Browns before injuries got to him.

Now Chubb, who is soon going to be 29, will wonder what it would have been like if he hadn’t faced those injury struggles. As fans, we can only hope that Nick Chubb comes back sooner than what his injury looks like.
