Living in LA has been very stressful of late. The destruction caused by the wildfires has turned daily life upside down for countless people. It is even harder for families with children to look after. Not only do they have to look out for their safety, but they also have to present the world as normally as possible to the kids. LA Rams QB Matthew Stafford‘s wife, Kelly Stafford found herself in such a predicament recently. Here’s how the couple shone through the challenge with their daughters.
Days before the playoff game, Kelly and her daughters were sick. Of the four girls that the couple share, the firstborn, twins, were hospitalized. They were suffering from the flu. But on game day, they were in the stands to watch Matthew put on a show. As Kelly Stafford shared on The Morning After, their third daughter, Hunter, was feeling guilty about wanting to be at the game despite being sick too. She shared Hunter’s thoughts, “Maybe I shouldn’t have said I want to go, but I just wanted to support daddy.” What an adorable and genuine emotion!

Due to the wildfires, the Rams’ home game against the Vikings was shifted to the State Farm Stadium, in Arizona. Being the first round of the playoffs, it was an all-important crunch game. Matthew couldn’t afford any distractions. But, as Kelly shared, his emotional side shone through in his family’s time of need. In simple words, he made the call: “Get your a** on that plane. We all need to be together.” Looks like he’s as firm with decision-making off the field as he is on it.
Kelly felt guilty before she decided to travel. She was contemplating whether it was right for her to travel to the game with her daughters while they were sick. It was then that their daddy took the reins and made the call that he wanted the family with him for game day. Stafford gave all possible support to his wife and kids.

Matthew is always there for Kelly Stafford and their daughters
It was thus that Kelly Stafford ended up on the plane that was carrying the Rams’ players, staff, and families to Arizona. It was the first time that she had ever traveled with her husband on a flight to his game. And they’ve been married for a decade! This ended up with her cheering from the stands while attending to Hunter’s health in the same frame. Hunter was supporting her dad while throwing up and needing breathing assistance. These pictures resulted in some calling Kelly a bad mom for the decision. But now that she has revealed the full story, it doesn’t seem so bad after all.
In any case, the Rams did the business and sailed through to the divisional round of the playoffs. Family can be a source of strength and motivation, and a difference maker after all. They will face the Eagles next at Lincoln Financial Field, the latter’s home stadium in Philadelphia. That’s a cross-country flight that Hunter and the gang will be looking to spread their cuteness all over. Hopefully, they’ll all be in good health and ready to cheer on daddy Stafford with their full strength.
