Matthew Stafford‘s real test of patience started after the Rams lost the season in the divisional round against the Philadelphia Eagles. She shared a story when she was taking one of her daughters, Hunter, to the hospital. She remembered, “We need to take her to the hospital. Like, she’s gonna require stitches. This was Hunter’s second ambulance trip of her life. So they’re like, what happened? She’s like, we were playing tug of war.” Oh, these kids. You can’t predict what kids would say or do at any time. That’s what happened with Kelly.

She further continued revealing what the kids did, “‘My hand slipped, and I went back and I hit the bedside table.’ I got texts from all the babysitters being like, ‘We are so incredibly sorry. We should have been in, we should have made sure they weren’t roughing around. They should have already been in bed’”. Although one might think that such a response from the babysitters would trigger Kelly Stafford, the star social media influencer thinks otherwise; like the kids are kids. Such things happen.

That’s what Kelly reiterated. “And I’m going, guys, they’re kids. Like, I feel like this generation, we’re all afraid to fail. Because if you fail, you just lose everything immediately, right?” She sarcastically said and further continued, “We don’t account for mistakes anymore. Not that it was a mistake. This is, you had nine children. Something like this was bound to happen. We have to understand that we’re human. Yeah. And things are going to happen. And like, let’s not, instead of jumping on someone, let’s show some grace.” Kelly’s tone looks disheartened. As a parent, she wants parenting to be more free and let the kids make mistakes. Stafford QB wants to move on from the franchise when he returns to the field. Though it’s not a strong decision to not play for the Rams, Matthew Stafford can invite a contract restructure by the Rams. On the same podcast, The Morning After, Kelly said, “My husband wants to win. He’s not trying to put his team in a bad situation.” And continued, “I will say the trading away of Cooper (Kupp), I guess I’m just a little, I’m confused. Because we were one play away from going to the NFC Championship, and I think if we go, we win.” After all, she is the wife of the QB and is expected to retaliate against the contract and trade issue. 

To look into Matthew Stafford’s contract, he has only about $5 million guaranteed on the contract. But why do the Rams want to trade him? Though the guaranteed amount may look manageable, Stafford will carry a cap hit of $49,666,667 for the 2025 season. Out of his four-year $160,000,000 contract signed in 2022, Matt would receive a base salary of $23,000,000 and a $4,000,000 roster bonus, which are way more than giving him the check of a guaranteed amount. But I value being respected and wanted over convenience. So it would be very convenient to stay. Very easy. But if someone doesn’t feel valued, then I’m like, let’s hit the road. Let’s go on an adventure.” Kelly looks too confident in her husband, when she says, “I will say we want to be here. But I’m not scared of going elsewhere, and I don’t think he is, either.” However, the possibility of Matthew Stafford staying back in Los Angeles is there on the table.
