When Kellen Moore took over as the Eagles’ offensive coordinator, things didn’t exactly come with a manual. Jalen Hurts admitted, “95% of the offense is new,” showing just how much overhaul Moore brought. From pre-snap motion to new run-pass concepts, Moore was crafting an entirely different rhythm. Hurts had to adjust fast, not just as a QB, but as a leader navigating a full-blown offensive reset. The result?

As expected. The revamped offense yielded impressive results. Hurts completed 65.4% of his passes for nearly 3K yards and 18 touchdowns, while also rushing for 14 touchdowns, falling just one shy of tying his career-high 15 rushing TDs. The Eagles’ offense ranked eighth in the NFL with an average of 206.9 yards per game and second in rushing yards per game at 179.3. Safe to say, these two figured something out, and the league took notice.

Fast forward to now, and Moore has left Philly to join the New Orleans Saints as their head coach. And Saints’ quarterback? Oh, that’s the tricky part. Derek Carr was supposed to lead the offense in 2025, but his return is uncertain, considering the guy suffered a shoulder injury. So now what? With Carr gone, Moore and the Saints are in dire need of a signal caller. The rumor mill is buzzing that New Orleans is going to draft a QB on Thursday.

And looks like Kellen Moore could draft a QB prospect who models his game after Jalen Hurts. Yeah, you read that right. And we’re talking about the Ole Miss QB, Jaxson Dart. On Wednesday, Dart stopped by on the Up & Adams Show, where he talked about how he models his game after Hurts. When asked what he likes about Hurts, Dart straight-up admitted, “I like his intangibles other than just his physical ability.”

“Like how he’s able to lead the guys… I feel like, you know, why I like him so much is because I see a lot of similarities, you know, you could compare just like the build that we have and then, you know, the ability to run and throw the ball, I think is just super unique and I think we’re both very like skiing versatile.” Well, if there are a couple of things that make Hurts lethal for the opponents, it’s his build and dual-threat ability.

The man stands at 6’1”, weighs over 200 pounds, and squats over 600 pounds. No wonder Hurts legs are a weapon too. With over 3K rushing yards across five seasons of his career, including 55 rushing touchdowns, he uses his speed and power to dominate defenses on the ground. And Dart? The guy’s set to enter the pros with a similar build to Hurts (standing at 6’2” and weighing 223 pounds), and a top-tier dual-threat ability.

Take his last season at Ole Miss, for instance. The guy had 4,279 yards for 29 touchdowns and nearly 500 rushing yards for 3 rushing touchdowns. Safe to say when the 21-year-old QB said he models his game after Jalen Hurts, he wasn’t talking the talk. But the big question is still looming over the Hurts—with Derek Carr gone, will Kellen Moore draft Jaxson Dart at No. 9 on Thursday?

What’s your perspective on:

Is Jaxson Dart the next Jalen Hurts, or is Kellen Moore taking a risky gamble?

Have an interesting take?

After all, the Ole Miss QB basically takes a page right out of the playbook of the guy Kellen Moore used to coach.

Kellen Moore to draft Shedeur Sanders or Jaxson Dart?

The NFL Draft is right around the corner, and if there’s one QB everyone’s struggling to figure out, it’s Shedeur Sanders. At the start of the offseason, people had him locked in as a top 5 pick. Now? No one’s really sure. Even scouts and analysts are all over the place. Some think he could sneak into the top 10, while others have him sliding all the way to No. 21 with the Steelers.

A few weeks ago, ESPN’s Mel Kiper predicted in his mock draft that the Saints are going to use their No. 9 pick to draft Sanders on Thursday. But in the meantime, the rumor mill is buzzing that the Saints are no more interested in drafting Sanders. In fact, they are going to draft Jaxson Dart at No. 9. Amidst all the QB prospect drama, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton believes that Dart is the ideal pick for the Saints in the first round.

According to Moton, either the Saints could draft a QB on day 2, or they “can be aggressive by taking Jaxson Dart with the ninth pick.” Moton’s prediction? He referenced the idea of the Saints drafting Dart at No. 9 as “a mild shocker for the masses.” But nah, most folks out there believe that the Saints are going to pick Dart, but not at No. 9. In fact, there’s a slight possibility the Saints could trade down.

But it’s not as easy as it sounds. Why? Let’s be real: Shedeur’s draft stock has been dropped, no doubt. But he’s still one of the top QB prospects of this year’s class. That means there’s a high possibility that by the time the Saints would get an opportunity to draft a QB, some other team would already snag him up. And that means only one thing.

The Steelers are one of the QB-needy teams, and if a team drafts Sanders early in the first round, they’d be eager to pick Jaxson Dart at No. 21 then. That’s where it could get tough for the Saints to trade up later to pick Dart. That said, Kellen Moore and Co. are back to square one. At the end of the day, it’d be a better choice to draft a QB at No. 9. Jaxson Dart or Shedeur Sanders? We’ll find out in just a few hours.
