This time, the Chiefs are marching to win an award but there’s a catch. It’s not only about football and the necessary skills but also about winning the hearts of Americans. Regarding this, the Kansas City Chiefs posted a story on IG requesting fans for their help.

On New Year’s Eve, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s fans received the news that he was leading the Pro Bowl voting. But before revealing that, the franchise updated fans about dropping a vote for tight end Travis Kelce to win one of the most important awards in the league—the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. In the IG story, the Chiefs requested fans to help him win this award.

Every year, NFL players compete for the NFL Walter Payton Man of The Year Award. It is awarded for the off-the-field work done by a player, to celebrate an NFL player’s contribution to society. The NFL awarded Dak Prescott the prestigious trophy in 2022, and Cam Heyward won it in 2023.

Travis was nominated for his tremendous contributions in Kansas and outside the city as well. On the popular ‘New Heights Podcast,‘ Travis responded to being considered for the honor, “It is a huge award. I love getting out here in the Kansas City community. Man, I really do. They show up for each other so much, and they do it with so much pride.”

Travis further added, “And, you know, that’s the beauty of having that relationship with the community. It’s always to, you know, try to make a better world for the ones that support you on game day.” The Chiefs #87 has been running an organization since 2015, the ‘Eighty-Seven and Running’ foundation and it has helped many needy people through its nine-year-long journey.

Well, that’s why Kelce is the darling of Kansas City for a reason. But as Kelce is having a great time with the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of The Year Award, he is facing a huge backlash for another important NFL accolade.

Swifties hijacked Travis Kelce’s Pro Bowl Voting

People criticize Travis Kelce because he received a high Pro Bowl vote while having a terrible season. But why did people react in such a mean way? Well, that’s all because of his dreadful stats this season. And what do his stats say? Received passes to cover only 823 yards, which he ranks 36th. Besides this, the Chiefs TE has contributed only three touchdowns and you know where he stands in the TD rankings among tight ends? 77th. This is why people are criticizing Travis for receiving the highest votes in the Pro Bowl ballot, accusing Taylor Swift’s Swifties, not Kelce’s fans, of hijacking the voting.

And before this even happened, what happened with Kelce before the Christmas Day game against the Steelers? The NFL and NFL Style posted Travis Kelce’s game-day fit on Instagram, and NFL fans didn’t miss a chance to troll Kelce for this ‘washed’ season. Fans commented on the IG post, “Come deliver a touchdown for the Chiefs 🎁,” “25 yards,” “All this for 1 rec and 20 yards,” and “Taylor Swift won’t be able to save you this year, buddy boy!” Well, with all that being said, the reality is Travis Kelce has topped the voting for the Pro Bowl.

Even the Bengals QB Joe Burrow has received 239,526 votes and is ranking 4th despite a wonderful season.
