Let’s be honest: social media can be as toxic an environment as a positive one. Not everyone gets on Instagram to like those cat reels. Some treat it as a platform to vent their frustrations and be mean to people. And Kayla Nicole is no stranger to those rude comments. Be it about her breakup with Travis Kelce or her fitness posts, people on the internet love to give her the occasional side eye topped with bashful comments. But even if the remarks strike a nerve, she doesn’t let the haters get to her! Slay, queen.
Picture this – you post a selfie that you absolutely love, and some random person on social media decides to share their helpful (not) and colorful opinion about you. Something similar happened with Kayla recently. One commenter decided to question her fitness credentials with an observation (read: jab). “I thought this girl was into fitness and toning.” Yeah, most of us would spiral reading something as hateful. But not Kayla! Instead, after getting over the initial sting, she posted a video of her working out to turn the narrative. “Can’t lie, it struck a nerve. But I had to interrupt that intrusive thought and remind myself that I work out to FEEL good. “Looking good” is just an added bonus. Also that everyone’s idea of toned/fit is subjective and I don’t have to subscribe to it,” Kayla wrote, talking about the comment.
The social media influencer also reflected on how, for years, she held herself back from entering the fitness space because she didn’t feel “good enough.” We have all been there. Trying to be perfect and losing ourselves while at it. “I needed to lose weight first, get my abs back, have zero cellulite. Blah blah blah. And I hate that for me because the reality is I’m human (as are you) and of course we all have room for improvement.” Like popstar Miley Cyrus once said – Nobody’s perfect; you live, and you learn it.

In her post, she also said something very powerful – “But if you’re waiting to be perfect you will be waiting for forever.” Needless to say, her social media followers resonated hard with this! And her mic-drop dig at the hater didn’t go unnoticed either, as she wrote, “So here I am posting this reel! Me and my perfectly imperfect ‘fit’ body, with MY work out equipment from MY wellness brand.” Hope that serves as the biggest push everyone reading this needs today. While she did not need to prove her worth or success, she effortlessly did so with that single line!
Beyond the gram, Kayla Nicole is a businesswoman
Kayla Nicole is not just talking the talk on her Instagram posts. She is walking it, running it, and turning it into business. While a major narrative around her still has a lot to do with her past relationship with Chiefs‘ Travis Kelce, Kayla is working hard to redefine it. In 2023, she relaunched her fitness brand, Tribe Therepē. The brand isn’t just about breaking a sweat. Instead, it’s about truly being fit.

Kayla made sure her brand combines her passion for physical fitness with her commitment to a mental health journey. Tribe Therepē offers workout equipment and expert fitness advice. But, aside from having a successful business, Kayla has also been a prominent name in the modeling world. She has collaborated with brands like Savage X Fenty and Crocs.
And when she gets a moment away from being a boss, she loves to create art.
