It’s not easy to make it to the Super Bowl repeatedly and the Chiefs are on their way to set a rightful example. Travis Kelce had a two-touchdown game today and even threw a heart sign to Taylor Swift as a part of his celebration. Thinking back to Week 18, it was the last regular season game where Kelce and Patrick Mahomes were rested to gear up for the postseason, and it looks to have done the trick for the Kansas City team. Or at least coach Andy Reid seems to credit the rest for it.

The head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs came aboard the presser and shared insights from the game about what led the Chiefs to get into another divisional title game. After the Chiefs upset the Buffalo Bills in a close 27-24 game, it might be time for Travis Kelce to get back to his usual style and reflect on all the things that went right for him in the game.

The reporter in the room brought up Travis Kelce’s 2 TD performance, mentioned how he improved exponentially since the last game, and asked the HC for insight on quick improvement. Per Reid’s understanding, the Bills had a “plan” for the TE, to execute a man constantly after him. Still, the football player due to proper rest before the clash and preparation was able to secure a good outing in the important game.

“Yeah and they had a plan for him. I mean, you know, they were bringing in 33 there for a couple of series of having him play man and then put a guy over the top. But, I think Kelce just did a nice job. I think that time off that he had there before last game (of regular season) and into that last game helped him. He benefited from that. He’s banged up a little bit and he was able to kind of get over that.”

After a really long time, Travis Kelce was able to beat the touchdown drought to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to the AFC title game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Travis Kelce leading the Chiefs one step closer to the Lombardi Trophy

Before this game, Travis Kelce didn’t score a touchdown for 7 consecutive games. There were a series of dropped passes throughout the games and he had to come correct for the divisional round. In this game, he didn’t waste time and started scoring early on, trying to put his team in the driver’s seat. His first TD was a 22-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes near the end zone, which gave the Chiefs an edge over the Bills as they led 13-10 with 3:33 left on the clock.
