The Minnesota Vikings may have lost the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but a move by a Vikings player won the respect of Bengals’ fans. With this win, the Bengals are now at 8-6 but are still third on the AFC North leaderboard, whereas the Vikings are now 7-7 and yet second on the NFC North leaderboard.
In the final moments of regulation time, a move by Bengals’ wide receiver, Tee Higgins, drew praise from the opposing team’s player. Even though Higgins’ play was crucial in the Bengals’ victory vs the Vikings, it was far more important for Higgins, who had been struggling this season due to injuries. The game seemed to favor the Vikings, as they had a 24-17 lead over the Bengals. Then, as the clock was about to signal the end of the fourth quarter, WR Higgins leaped into the air and caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Jake Browning. He ended up tying the game 24-all, and it went into overtime. Then in overtime, the Bengals secured a field goal which sealed the victory for them.

Vikings WR Justin Jefferson, no doubt saddened by his team’s loss, walked up to the opponent WR to congratulate him. But he also displayed his sportsmanship by showering praise on him for the TD catch. “You crazy for that one.” Higgins said to the media about the catch, “I knew it was thrown a little bit short.” However, despite that, he made the catch and tied the game.
This comes as a fresh breath of life for the 24-year-old, who had gone without scoring a single TD in the last seven games and then scored two in the Vikings game alone!

Is it finally time for Higgins’ comeback?
Hamstring injuries and brutal pass drops have plagued his 2023 season. And his time in the spotlight didn’t come until the final quarter. In the first three quarters, he went without a catch and, as a result, didn’t score anything. Then in the fourth quarter, Higgins stunned everyone with 4 receptions for 61 yards and 2 TDs.
Bengals’ fans hope this was not a one-off incident and that what they saw on Sunday was the beginning of a “Higgins comeback”. All he needs to do is keep the momentum going. With just three games left in the regular season. Will Higgins manage to carry the team’s offense to victory?
