“He’s such a phenomenal talent, and once in a generation type talent that it’s more just you gotta not adapt your game to him, but you gotta understand like it’s going to take reps and reps and reps to feel his routes in and out of the break.” This is what JJ McCarthy told reporters about 25-YO Justin Jefferson when he was asked about the WR and the upcoming season. But as the offseason is at its peak, Jefferson is busy meeting with a $3.5 billion franchise

The star wide receiver recently appeared in Miami. Is he discussing something with Mike McDaniel? No way. That’s not the case here. The $3.5 billion franchise is Red Bull Racing, and Jefferson was on the track to help out the Red Bull team as an honorary worker. The wide receiver took time from his NFL offseason schedule to give an audition for the mechanic’s role! Justin’s latest Instagram story shows him changing tires on the Red Bull franchise racer’s F1 car at the Miami Grand Prix.

And whose car’s tire was Justin repairing? It’s none other than Max Verstappen. The reigning world champion is going to compete with Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, who was the winner of the Miami Grand Prix’s 2024 race. So, to add more spice to the race, Justin went to the track before the races started on May 5, 2025.

Justin Jefferson has always been a fan of cars and that also reflected here. We have never seen so many NFL players have an interest in F1 races, or car races, except former legends like Emmitt Smith who owns part of Jesse Iwuji’s franchise in NASCAR races. To talk about Justin Jefferson’s love for cars, he has a Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe and a Maybach GLS in his personal collection. So, it is no wonder we see Jefferson on the F1 track.

But while he was changing the tires of the super special F1 car, the Vikings’ anointed franchise quarterback has added some strong words, which indicate the franchise’s final decision on who they are starting the season with.

JJ McCarthy claimed he can be the starter

When Aaron Rodgers wanted to sign with the Vikings this offseason, the franchise reportedly declined the request and started working on J.J. McCarthy. JJ was injured in the pre-season of the 2024 NFL season and did not play a single regular-season game.  That fact gave critics a safe spot to create their narratives. JJ also lost too much weight when he tore the meniscus in his right knee. People started doubting the 2023 national champion team’s star quarterback.

While claiming his QB1 spot for the 2025 season, “And just to take it one day at a time, one play at a time. And I have a tremendous coaching staff, a tremendous group of guys around me that I can lean on and they can lean on me.” As he was talking about the guys,  Jefferson was one of the closest to JJ in the locker room. It’s going to be he-k of an exciting time to see Jefferson on the receiving end and JJ McCarthy as QB1. Let’s see if we can see that duo in the first game of the season.
