Randi Mahomes, retired and revealing the secrets to football greatness? You bet! Her two-word wisdom bomb, “All we get is ‘time’ and ‘choices’,” propelled Patrick Mahomes from a baseball whiz to the NFL’s most renowned QB. Turns out, a mom’s advice isn’t just good for life—it’s a game-changer on the gridiron.

Chiefs’ QB Mahomes wasn’t always destined for the gridiron. Before slinging bombs in the league, he was a high school triple-threat, playing baseball, basketball, and football. But deep down, baseball was his jam. No surprise there, considering his dad, Pat Mahomes Sr. was a former MLB pitcher. Mahomes even pitched a no-hitter before the Tigers drafted him. But something else was calling his name.

Mahomes chose Texas Tech for college, where he crushed in both baseball and football. But college threw a curveball his sophomore year—and he had to pick just one. The 28-year-old went all-in on football. He led the NCAA in passing yards and TDs his junior year, proving he had the chops to rock the NFL.

The Chiefs saw the Mahomes’ magic, drafting him 10th overall in 2017. Following a year as Alex Smith’s backup, he had a breakout season in 2018, becoming only the second player ever to throw 50 TDs and 5,000 yards in a season after Payton Manning. These weren’t just empty stats—Mahomes led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl in 50 years, snagging the Super Bowl LIV MVP.

Since then, it’s been Mahomes everywhere! He’s the youngest QB to win multiple MVP awards and Super Bowls, joining legends like Tom Brady and Joe Montana. With three SB wins in five seasons, Kansas City’s a power dynasty in the making, all thanks to a young man who made a wise ‘choice’ at the right ‘time’.
