Skip Bayless is still a relentless Cowboys fan and cannot keep the team out of any conversation. His latest tweet was a harsh reality check for the Chiefs as they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in a 17-21 bout. The Chiefs made some mistakes and paid a heavy price for faltering. Bayless being Bayless didn’t shy away from saying whatever he wanted to say.

Bayless’ major gripe seemed to be with the botches made by the  Chiefs and he compared the performance with the Dallas Cowboys and painted the Cowboys in a better light.

Bayless, being unapologetic about his views as usual,  trained his guns on QB, Patrick Mahomes, and TE, Travis Kelce. It’s true that Kelce fumbled the ball and Marquez-Valdez Scantling fumbled the game-winning touchdown. But Bayless couldn’t hold back and compared the situation to that of the Dallas Cowboys.

A frustrated Bayless took to social media platform X, to share his opinion on the Chiefs’ loss. “JUST MAKES ME SICK. MAHOMES, RED-ZONE INTERCEPTION. KELCE, RED-ZONE FUMBLE. TAKE THOSE AWAY, COWBOYS WIN,” Bayless wrote in all caps.

From beefing with LeBron James to slandering Dak Prescott and turning into his best mate the very next week, the 71-year-old has never shied away from controversy.

His tweet has attracted a lot of backlash from Chiefs fans as well. But irrespective of the tweet, the Chiefs did make some irreparable mistakes and Jalen Hurts took advantage.

The tables turn against the Chiefs

Before the recent loss, the Chiefs were 5-0 against the Eagles. The team was going strong in the first half, with a leading score of 17-7. But, everything came to an end when Scantling dropped the 51-yard pass from Mahomes that could have been the deciding touchdown. Mahomes had 177 passing yards against Jalen Hurts’ 150. However, Hurts pulled his act together in the second half of the game when he helped D’Andre Swift for 76 yards and DaVonta Smith for 99 yards over 6 passes.

Mahomes in the post-match interview mentioned how the offense for the Chiefs has been performing sub-par throughout the season, especially this time around. Despite covering 336 yards overall, the team could only reach a score of 17. Apart from the penalties that destroyed the Chiefs, the Travis Kelce fumble has become quite a highlight and people were on his case after the game.

Kelce’s fumble in the red zone turned out to be game-changing overall, adding to his list of errors along with a dropped pass close to the end of the fourth quarter. His mere coverage of 44 yards and a single touchdown did not ease out the trouble for the Chiefs much. The TE has been thoroughly struggling in his last few games, failing to cross the 70 receiving yards in the majority of those.

Apart from the TE’s blunders, the Chiefs had the opportunity to punt the ball down the Eagles’ lines. But Justin Watson came up short and couldn’t complete the task at hand. Hurts and Co. took advantage of the situation, and grabbed their first victory against the Andy Reid-led Chiefs. The tush push also worked in the later stage of the game as Hurts snuck in for a touchdown, giving the Eagles a breather.

The Chiefs also came out injured from the game as their WR Mecole Hardman was ruled out of the game due to a thumb injury in the first quarter. The Eagles didn’t go unscathed either, as their TE Grant Calcaterra hurt his ankle and DT Fletcher Cox momentarily went away after a collision.
