With two minutes left, the Cowboys had secured the best spot at the Detroit Lions’ 33-yard line. Still, the team went on to pass the ball rather than running down the field. One of the throws went incomplete, which made the Lions secure the final drive TD with just 23 seconds remaining. Skip Bayless acknowledged the absurd playoff calls and let his frustration out by tweeting on X.

Bayless rightly noticed the Cowboys’ passing game and wrote, “McCarthy calling the late passes opened the door for what nearly happened.” He further called the play, “Just dumb“. After losing the ball while playing the passing game, the Lions’ HC Don Campbell opted for the conversion game instead of kicking the ball for the tie. He tried to get the rest two points but Jared Goff’s last pass of the game went incomplete. The last play surely gave the Cowboys’ fanbase an avoidable scare.
