Monday’s wildcard matchup turned “brutal” for the wide receiver Julio Jones. The Philadelphia Eagles were facing off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on January 15 at Raymond James Stadium. This exciting thriller turned sour for the Eagles and the fans, as another wide receiver for the Eagles left the field in pain.
The Eagles were running short on their offensive side. Second-team All-Pro A.J. Brown was out of the wildcard game with a sprained knee. Jones and Quez Watkins were among the receivers who were filling the void for him. And now once again, the Eagles got a major blow in the second quarter of the game, turning things even worse for the Birds.

Referee Adrian Hill called for trainers to check on him as he was slow to get up. The team’s medical staff took him to the sidelines in the blue tent. Later, the team announced that “Julio Jones now has been ruled out,” and is now being evaluated for a concussion. The Eagles were already short on weapons for their offense, and this injury gave them another blow.
By that time, the Bucs were ahead of the Eagles with 16-9 in the third quarter and already looking far more settled in the game as compared to their counterparts.

Who took over the responsibility for the receivers?
Julio Jones was designated as the starter for the game, who contributed with three catches for 22 yards before leaving the game with a concussion. Even in the absence of A.J. Brown and Jones, the Eagles still had DeVonta Smith, who has been a standout performer in the struggling passing game, accumulating 98 yards on three catches in the first half.
The spotlight also went to the receivers Quez Watkins and Olamide Zaccheaus along with tight end Dallas Goedert, as they were trying to soak in the pressure from the game. However, despite all of these efforts, the team looked off the pace and hence lost the crucial game to Tampa with a score of 32-9.
