The NFC Championship game is just 3 days away. Under the HC Dan Quinn, rookie QB Jayden Daniels and the Commanders have amazed everyone. In the only playoff game between them and the Eagles, in 1991, they won. But 3 decades later, everything has changed in the league. The players have got more advanced. But the star of the game would definitely be the rookie signal caller. He has stood a class apart not just with his results but also with his cool and composed temperament.
Former Patriots WR Julian Edelman confirmed it, having played alongside Tom Brady for many years. The 3-time Super Bowl winner praised Commanders the QB’s poise on the January 23 episode of The Herd With Colin Cowherd and said, “It’s very evident on situational plays like third downs, fourth down, a few times, where they convert where he’s getting Blitz, where he still stays within the scheme and doesn’t rush his progression.” That’s a clear notice to the Eagles as well.

They have seen it firsthand. In the first game this year in week 11, it took a Saquon Barkley special to win. The RB scored two touchdowns in the 4th quarter. However, the rookie ensured they were always ahead of the Eagles in their 2nd game this season in week 16. He also showed his abilities as a calm, poised signal caller. He made a couple of key passes at key moments, a 32-yard pass to WR Terry McLaurin and a 49-yard pass to the receiver Olamide Zaccheaus. In the end, Jayden Daniels had 24 of 39 passes in 258 passing yards with 5 TDs and 2 interceptions.
But Julian Edelman didn’t stop there. The former Patriots WR also claimed that he was better than Lamar Jackson on blitz zero, where every player who is not assigned to a player goes into the backfield to tackle the ball carrier. He claimed the Chiefs beat the Ravens by blitz zero in the last 2 postseasons and added, “They haven’t had an answer (while) Jayden Daniels beat that thing like consistently this year.”
Even the Eagles DC Vic Fangio said before the NFC Championship game, “He’s a young quarterback by birth certificate, not by the tape.” But the Eagles are not letting his growing reputation get to them.
Eagles LT dismisses Jayden Daniels’ hype
For the Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata, the hype is getting on his nerves. And like a true teammate, he was annoyed when reporters claimed Jayden Daniels was getting more hype than his quarterback, Jalen Hurts. He was angry and gave a classic reply.

His NFSW response to those claims was, “I couldn’t give a f— A rat’s a– about whatever anyone says outside this building.” He later claimed they had much bigger plans and added, “It ain’t gonna help us win championships, and that’s our goal.” But he is right.
Jayden Daniels is in his first year in the league. While Hurts has carried the Eagles to four consecutive post-seasons now. Every year bar his rookie season. So, implying he was to be counted out against a rookie QB is unfair to the experienced player. Also, he wasn’t playing in the week 16 game when the rookie scripted a comeback. So the NFC pressure would be a true test for both of them. The one who handles it better will move into the Super Bowl.

Julian Edelman also claimed that the Commanders weren’t a good defensive team. Hence, the Eagles will play on February 9 at Ceasars Superdome. Will his prediction come true?
