The game isn’t the same anymore. It’s playoff football climax time. 2 more games and we will have our champion. Josh Allen wants to be the first quarterback in 3 decades to take the Bills into the Super Bowl. The team standing between him and his dream is the Chiefs, a front-runner for another NFL record, a 3-peat. But after so many playoff exits long, the Bills’ signal-caller has learned his lessons. And he is ready to apply them on the field.

It’s no hidden fact that the small moments will determine the winner. Be it drives, passes, fumbles, or turnovers. Allen stressed upon it while talking to reporters on January 22. He said, “There was a stat throughout this last weekend where the teams that got out gained. All still won the game because they won the turnover margin. Maybe, there wasn’t one game, But that shows the importance of how, how much each and every drive matters in the playoffs.” Josh Allen certainly got that right.

Turnovers were the only difference between them and the Ravens in the divisional game on the 19th of January. The Bills put their rivals under pressure. 3 turnovers! Those decimated the two chances where the Ravens came close to taking the lead or equalizing scores. Even in the other two games between LionsCommanders and EaglesRams, fumbles were the turning points. Although the Commanders were out gained by 40 yards in the game, their DE Dorance Armstrong sacked QB Jared Goff in the last minute of the 1st quarter, forcing a fumble. The drive might have ended in a TD, if not stopped.

In the other game, the Rams had 52 more yards than the Eagles. But 2 fumbles broke their momentum. The first one was on the opening drive in the 4th quarter. Matthew Stafford handed the ball to RB Kyren Williams, but he dropped the ball, which DT Jalen Carter recovered. The score was 15-16 to the Eagles but they scored a field goal off the turnover and took a 19-15 lead. In the end, they won the game 28-22.

Josh Allen also touched on another tactic that the Chiefs implemented against the Texans. While talking about his clear game strategy, the Bills QB added, “I’ve learned throughout the years is just making sure that, especially in the 1st and 2nd quarter, let’s not do anything to hurt ourselves, and give ourselves a chance in the 3rd or 4th.” The Chiefs went after CJ Stroud repeatedly in the game, sacking him 8 times. At one point in the first half, the signal caller was limping.

His mind is clear. And he is indicating that they have an equal chance of making it to and even winning the Super Bowl. Many in the league would like to see that, even the Ravens QB.

Have an interesting take?

Being a true sports person, the Ravens signal caller didn’t take away anything from the winners, despite losing. In fact, he was gracious enough to give a heartwarming message to the Bills’ signal caller after the divisional game. Mics caught Lamar Jackson telling his counterpart, “Go get some, man. Get some!” Clearly, he also wants Josh Allen to overcome Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Both came into the league in 2018, one year after the Grim Reaper. But he has been the wall they have never climbed. While they have made a name for themselves, their teams’ postseason success is a different scenario. Can Josh Allen be the one to finally do it?

Undoubtedly, the crowd at Arrowhead will be hostile to him. The Chiefs will not lack any motivation on their 3-peat run. It’s not something they would have the chance to achieve again easily. It will come down to the small moments.
